**Reflecting on Three Years as Risk Mitigation Consulting (RMC)'s CEO** My Key Takeaways: **1. “Culture Eats Strategy for Breakfast” ** This famous quote is often attributed to Peter Drucker, and it’s a reminder that no strategy can succeed without the right people and culture behind it. Great strategies can fail because of poor culture, but strong cultures can elevate a flawed strategy. Simply put, focus on building an incredible culture, and success will follow. I’m proud of the purpose-driven, inclusive, and impact-focused culture we have at RMC. **2. Lean into Purpose** In previous roles, misalignments between my values and the company's purpose left me unfulfilled and looking for more. There is a fair amount of management science connecting a deep sense of purpose with work satisfaction, productivity, and company growth. At RMC, I've discovered a deep sense of purpose in our mission to secure critical infrastructure and missions. This shared vision, encapsulated in our vision statement "Assuring Tomorrow," unites our team and drives our success. **3. Team is Everything** If you have the right team, you can take on the world! At RMC, I’m constantly inspired by our team's talent, dedication, and resilience. Quality Drives Growth, Not the Other Way Around** It's easy for a growing company to become obsessed with targets, goals, and new customers. It wasn't until I came to RMC that I learned to appreciate how quality drives growth.
