Members of the Riverside Research Contracts Team spent time at HTC Dayton (Hannah's Treasure Chest) at their new Miamisburg, OH, location. The team sorted through and organized donated toys, which, along with clothing, diapers, car seats, baby beds, and other necessary items, will be delivered to families in need in southwest #Ohio. In 2023, HTC served over 7,050 children through their care package program. HTC is funded through grants, generous sponsors, and donations of gently used items. Our team members were honored to volunteer for this worthy organization. On June 25, Michelle McKenzie and Eric Connelly, Foreign Language-Enabled Research Analyst, Project Leads, had the opportunity to introduce Riverside Research to the Language Workshop Program at Indiana University. The Language Workshop is a nationally renowned, summer intensive language program that attracts high-performing students from across the country. As an independent nonprofit, our presentation was the first of its kind for the Language Workshop and the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies. Governmental intelligence agencies present each year, but this was the first time a non-governmental organization has ever addressed the students of this impressive program. The event was standing room only. Additional students and instructors viewed the event online, and the 50 students present were eager to learn about how studying critical languages can enhance careers and contribute to #NationalSecurity efforts. We appreciate the opportunity to help the emerging generation of linguists pursue careers in #GovCon and #intelligence. We are currently hiring linguists. Last week, Riverside Research interns Seth Derstine, Dheeraj Gosula, Ben Russell, and Phil Trzaska successfully completed a five-day rapid prototyping event to develop and demonstrate a data pipeline for ingesting, storing, relating, managing, and visualizing streaming resident space object (RSO) data. The team used Amazon Web Services (AWS) for workflow integration and deployment and Grafana for data visualization. At the end of the week, they demonstrated the prototype to stakeholders. The interns are members of Riverside Research’s Commercial Innovation Center (CIC) and Software Applications Team (SWAT). The successful prototype will be transferred by the CIC to monitor system performance and data metrics as part of a planned demonstration to our government customers. We’re thrilled to have our interns making an impact this summer. In our next video in the #FromTheLabToTheField series, Dr. Samuel Mantravadi, Research Engineer, provides an overview of photonic modeling and simulation at Riverside Research. He describes the sensitive complexities of lenses required to use on missions and how this process allows engineers to simulate the way glass works in these designs prior to production. Our process helps explain how to design these lenses and saves our customers money on development with the help of #automation. Introducing Dheeraj Gosula —one of our summer interns who is supporting our Software Applications team. He is a rising sophomore majoring in #ComputerScience and #ComputerEngineering at The Ohio State University. Dheeraj’s decision to pursue a career in #STEM is fueled by his passion for problem-solving. He says that STEM is a field that really requires you to think outside of the box, and that by pursuing a career in STEM, it enables him to work on solutions for real-world problems. In his free time, Dheeraj likes to sketch, read, ride his bike, and play tennis. We are happy to have you on our team, Dheeraj! #WeAreRiversideResearch #TeamRiversideResearch #RiversideResearchInterns #GettingToKnowOurSummerInterns #InternSpotlight

Riverside Research Facility Security Officers are active members of the NCMS National Classification Management Society (NCMS), and we're thrilled to have Heather Erickson, Riverside Research Security Manager, as the Wright Flyer Chapter Chair. ✈️ This year’s NCMS National Seminar in #Nashville, TN, was a standout event, thanks in part to Heather’s engaging session for newcomers. Phyllis Moshos, Riverside Research Security Administrator, said, “We decorated our table in chic country and highlighted famous country #music folk from the Wright Flyer Chapter Region. We created security records and album covers to show case local famous folk: David Allan Coe from Akron, OH, Roy Rogers from Cincinnati, OH, Chris Stapleton Staffordsville, KY, and Rascal Flatts from Columbus, OH.” The table was a hit, blending security themes with country music flair—right down to song lyrics and Heather's unforgettable cowgirl outfit. Thanks to these creative touches, the chapter was honored with the Best Theme Award! #Security #GovCon
