We are happy to be part of this program, and continuing to support the elders in our community!
Announcing our new Senior Advisory Council program! This new initiative supports our centers to establish or expand senior advisory councils, groups of older adult clients who take an active role in shaping the programs and services our centers offer. Our centers are already putting this program into action, gathering older adults to plan new services that have ranged from Tai Chi instructors to Black History Month events to classes to learn new skills. This new program ensures that our centers are always offering programs that reflect the needs of the communities we serve. We are grateful to our primary funding partner, The Joseph & Vera Long Foundation, who made this program possible through their Healthy Aging Grant. Thank you also to Metta Fund for providing funding to round out this program. Congratulations to our centers who are establishing or expanding their Senior Advisory Councils: Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center (TEL HI), The Richmond Neighborhood Center, I.T. Bookman, Good Samaritan Family Resource Center, and Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gwFEqmw5
