The City of Richardson Texas is strengthening its international business ties with Asia by sending two representatives to India this week to establish a strategic partnership with Startup Runway. Interim Economic Development Director, Chris Shacklett, AICP, and Director of Communications and Community Engagement, Greg Sowell, MBA, CPC, will embark on a 10-day, five-city tour of India, including Hyderabad, Bhubaneshwar, Visakhapatnam, Amaravati, and Mumbai. Their mission is to foster relationships with Indian government officials, potential investors, and business leaders, showcasing Richardson's strategic location, skilled workforce, and technology ecosystem to attract international business opportunities. Already home to India-based tech companies Infosys and Tessolve, Richardson aims to attract foreign prospects with proven products to launch and grow operations locally, increasing employment opportunities in the community.
