Biochemistry - University of Missouri-Columbia M.D. - University of Missouri-Columbia What are some activities you enjoy while not in clinic? Spending time with family, jogging/exercising, anything with a motor (cars, motorcycles, lawnmowers--I'm not prejudice), wine and watch aficionado When did you become interested in the medical field? After I was told when I was three that I couldn't be a "king." Who were your biggest influences growing up that guided you toward a career in medicine? My Dad was a family practice doctor for over 50 years. Truly an inspiration. What are some of your notable highlights, milestones, or achievements in the field? Accepted into an incredibly competitive integrated plastic surgery residency program in 1998. Numerous publications during training have led to changes in managing various plastic surgery procedures. Clinical highlights are too numerous to count in helping thousands of patients in the past 20 years. What do you like most about your career as a plastic surgeon? I love the diversity in my patient population and the ability to manage a wide range of cases. What is your patient care philosophy? I cannot promise that we can satisfy 100% of the patients 100% of the time, but I will do the very best I am capable of 100% of the time. Thank you, Ben!
