Earlier this week, I had the honor of recognizing my friend, Chief Growth Officer of Kellanova Charisse Hughes, who was named a Woman of the Year by She Runs It - an organization with a mission to pave the way for more women to lead at all levels of marketing, media, and tech! I had the distinct privilege to call Charisse a colleague and direct report when we worked together at the The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. When I left the company, I was proud to call her my successor. Today, I just call her awesome! She is a multi-hyphenate: Boss, wife, mother, daughter and daughter-in-law, friend, niece, leader, mentor, diversity and equality champion, multi-award winner, trailblazer – A true woman who runs it and does it all. She Runs It named Charisse a #WomanOfTheYear as she truly changed the conversation across Kellanova marketing. She puts data intelligently at the heart of commercial planning and finding behavioral patterns that unlock unique business opportunities. Whether identifying a licensing partnership by sharply understanding the cohorts of brands that influential consumers love most or finding a way to open up brands and products to an underserved community, Charisse’s inspired view on data application for CPG has infected the company with a new enthusiasm to win through technology and the power of data unleashed.
