Better Hemodynamic Data Saves Lives

About us

Retia Medical develops and sells advanced algorithms and monitors for guiding care for high-risk surgical and critically ill patients. The Argos Cardiac Output Monitor provides consistent accuracy using Multi-Beat Analysis(TM), rapid setup, and an intuitive user interface while avoiding costly proprietary disposables. Approximately 20 million surgical intensive care patients worldwide could benefit from this technology. Based in White Plains, NY, Retia’s technology was developed at Michigan State University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology and validated through extensive tests in animals and humans. With the support of a strong advisory board comprised of industry and clinical experts, Retia received FDA 510(k) clearance and launched this product in December 2018, which will help revolutionize the care of the most at-risk patients.

📣 We are thrilled to announce the findings of a recent study that evaluated the accuracy of our Argos multi-beat analysis against the PiCCO pulse-contour analysis during a passive leg raise (PLR) and/or a fluid challenge (FC). 📣 In this study Dr. Bitker's group found that the Argos monitor has an excellent trending ability for cardiac output monitoring compared to the PiCCO thermodilution method, with a concordance of 90%. In 29 MICU patients with sepsis and septic shock, the Argos monitor was able to predict fluid responsiveness when undergoing a passive leg raise. Likewise, the Argos monitor correctly tracked fluid responders on receiving a fluid challenge. The article concludes that "the device [Argos] showed excellent diagnostic and predictive performance to predict preload dependence in a medical ICU population receiving norepinephrine".   https://lnkd.in/eg9bmudW

👨⚕️Clinicians... you have the below patient admitted into your ICU.. are you confident all your new nurses are trained properly to handle the below situation??? Patient Profile: Age: 65-year-old male Medical History: Hypertension, Type 2 Diabetes Current Condition: Admitted to ICU with severe sepsis secondary to a urinary tract infection. The patient is exhibiting signs of septic shock, including hypotension, tachycardia, altered mental status, and elevated lactate levels. Initial Presentation: Blood Pressure: 80/50 mmHg Heart Rate: 120 beats per minute Respiratory Rate: 28 breaths per minute Temperature: 39°C (102.2°F) Lactate Level: 4.5 mmol/L Urine Output: 10 ml/hour Clinical Challenges: Hemodynamic Instability: Low blood pressure and high heart rate indicate poor perfusion and possible multi-organ dysfunction. Fluid Resuscitation: Determining the optimal volume of fluids to administer to improve blood pressure without causing fluid overload. Vasopressor Management: Deciding on the type and dosage of vasopressors to maintain adequate blood pressure and organ perfusion. 💪 How can the Argos Hemodynamic Monitor help you and your staff? 💪 ✅ Guiding Fluid Resuscitation: Accurate measurement of stroke volume (SV) and pulse pressure variation (PPV) helps in assessing the patient’s fluid responsiveness. ✅ Optimizing Vasopressor Therapy: Real-time tracking of systemic vascular resistance (SVR) helps in titrating vasopressor dosage to achieve target mean arterial pressure (MAP). ✅ Monitoring Organ Perfusion: Continuous monitoring of parameters such as cardiac output helps in assessing whether vital organs are receiving adequate blood flow. 💡 Clinical Outcome: With the help of the Argos Hemodynamic Monitor, the ICU team can make accurate, informed, data-driven decisions regarding fluid management and vasopressor therapy. That may lead to enhanced overall patient outcomes and a decreased likelihood of complications associated with septic shock. #ICU #AACN #NURSES #ARGOS

The demand for Intensive Care Unit (ICU) services frequently surpasses the available workforce, leading to significant challenges in patient care. The repercussions of these staffing shortages are profound: 🚫 Increased Patient-to-Nurse Ratios can lead to less individualized attention, delayed response times, and potential increases in medical errors. 🚫 Extended ICU stays can result in delayed procedures and slower patient recovery times, thereby prolonging ICU stays. 🚫 Research has shown that staffing shortages in ICUs are associated with increased mortality rates due to suboptimal monitoring and delayed interventions. 👉 How Can the Argos help???? 👈 💡 Advanced data analytics through our patented MBA algorithm can predict patient deterioration, aiding in proactive rather than reactive care. 💡 Alerts for abnormal hemodynamic parameters can ensure that clinicians are immediately informed of any changes in a patient's condition, reducing the likelihood of missed warning signs due to high patient-to-nurse ratios. 💡 The Argos is designed for quick and straightforward installation minimizing downtime and disruptions to ICU operations. Its plug-and-play design means that the system can be up and running within a minute, unlike some competitors that require complex and time-consuming installations. Shortages of essential medical supplies, equipment, medications, and advanced technologies impede timely diagnosis, treatment, and management of critically ill patients. That right there is creating healthcare disparities and system inefficiencies within the US and abroad. Made here in the USA and with no disposables to order, stock, or expire, our Argos hemodynamic monitor solves all these issues. Trust our monitor to provide you the most accurate hemodynamic parameters when you need it most. 🏥 Below is a picture of our recent install at an institution that made the conscious decision to part ways with unreliable monitors and disposables to ensure their patients across all ICU's and OR's have the care they need when they need it. 🏥 To inquire about our monitors please reach out to us at: Infor@retiamedical.com Sales@retiamedical.com
