Congratulations to Mission Solar on its 10th Anniversary and facility expansion! RETC was very excited to join yesterday’s celebration in San Antonio, Texas. The program featured local and international dignitaries and artists, as well as long-tenured employees. Before returning home, we toured the existing production floor and got to watch the module assembly process from start to finish. In 2014, Mission Solar built its original 240,00 SF building, which includes spaces for production, warehouse, and administration activities. Its 2024 expansion, fueled in part by the Inflation Reduction Act, adds another 200,000 SF of building space. Today, Mission Solar has annual production capacity of 400 MW. Entering its second decade, the company now has the ability to expand production capacity to 1 GW!

The recommendations provide guidance to sponsors, insurers, owners, developers, designers, operators and technical consultants. Despite unavoidable severe hail events in some locations, project stakeholders have the opportunity to prevent or at least limit catastrophic hail damage. This can be achieved by increasing their due diligence and technical knowledge. The practical measures outlined in this free technical memo can be used by project stakeholders to mitigate the risk of hail by implementing physical protection measures against damage. “Where PV module hail resilience is insufficient on its own to reduce the risk of hail damage to acceptable levels in utility-scale projects deployed using single-axis trackers, project stakeholders must use defensive hail stow procedures to enhance system-level resiliency,” according to a new report from VDE Americas and Wells Fargo Renewable Energy & Environmental Finance, co-authored by Dr. Peter Bostock (VDE Americas), Ken Elser (Wells Fargo) and Jon Previtali (VDE Americas). https://lnkd.in/gYcda39S #solarprojects #solartrackers #solarenergy #solarbuilder
