    The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, with locations in Washington, D.C., and New York, was recently named one of the top “10 Historic Indigenous Sites To Visit This Summer” by Cowboys and Indians Magazine. Both locations offer exhibits that allow visitors to dive into 12,000 years of history across 1,200+ Indigenous cultures of the Western Hemisphere, along with concerts, festivals, and much more. The museum marks a year of milestones with the 2024 Smithsonian Folklife Festival (June 26-July 1), presenting “Indigenous Voices of the Americas” on the National Mall and inside the D.C. museum, making it a perfect time to enjoy Indigenous-inspired cuisine at the Mitsitam Native Foods Cafe, such as the Fry Bread Taco, Calabaza Sweet Onion Tamales, and Mitsitam Bread Pudding.     We celebrated culinary excellence and philanthropy at The Second Annual Women in Supply Chain Conference in Burlington, MA. For the reception, six of our female chefs crafted dishes for charity, and the 250 attendees voted on their favorites.     Recently, our team attended the Breadwinner's Benefit, hosted by Hot Bread Kitchen and co-sponsored by R/A. The event featured HBK alumna and R/A Sous Chef Maria Housel and was emceed by culinary expert and TV personality Nilou Motamed. Emmy Award-winning TV host and journalist Tamron Hall moderated the panel discussion. The evening was a success, showcasing the wonderful work of this impactful organization. Hot Bread Kitchen, a NYC non-profit, is dedicated to creating economic opportunities for women, gender-expansive people, immigrants, and people of color. Our VP of DEIB & Culture, Courtney Willis proudly serves on the board.     On #Stopfoodwasteday (April 24th), we partnered with Food Tank and Compass Group USA Group to host a Warrior Awards Ceremony at the One Club, one of our accounts at One Wall Street in NYC. This event featured notable speakers including our own CEO Ed Brown who said: “In food service and restaurants, the impact of the amount of food we order, produce, and portion is substantial. At the level and volume at which we operate, even small adjustments to these metrics can have a massive impact.     Happy #stopfoodwasteday! To further raise awareness of the global issue surrounding wasted food, in 2017 Compass Group USA created Stop Food Waste Day, an international day of action, to share solutions that address food waste at the source and in the home. We've been celebrating all day in our cafes across the country with zero waste dishes, Teaching Kitchens, and more. And we're keeping it going with a Food Tank event in NYC tonight from 5:45-8pm EST, celebrating the community's efforts to reduce food waste. This event will showcase food waste experts, local food waste warriors, and engaging conversations.
