The story of how Zero came into our care a week ago is an interesting one: Last year, he was purchased as a puppy who was marketed as a ‘Chihuahua x Terrier Mix - who will grow up to be 25lbs.’ His owner had no plans for a big dog, especially a working breed that required lots of training attention. SO now, almost a year later, Zero doesn’t have a home. Zero is 1 year old, and he is starting from scratch. He is a handsome, smart, energetic boy who thrives on activity and exercise and loves the dog park and treats. Since joining his foster home, Zero has been working on his manners, mastering commands and walking on a leash calmly. Zero is a good boy with a lot of love to give. He has a special place in his heart for people, and is loyal to the T thanks to his Shepherd nature. 40lb Zero is the perfect size for an owner who is ready to invest time and patience into his training. Zero is eagerly waiting to become someone’s best friend and is ready to go into a foster to adopt or forever home! Interested in helping Zero? Please email foster@rescuecity.nyc today, or help share Zero’s story! #adopt #adoptdontshop #dogrescue #petrescue #nycdogrescue #animalrescue #nycnonprofit #nonprofit

Jackie joined the Rescue City family yesterday. Unfortunately, her world was turned upside down when her owner was put in a nursing home, and no one else was able to take in 13 Year Old Jackie, so she was brought to the shelter. We’re just getting to know her, but she’s been great with all dogs and humans so far. She’s just the sweetest little potato! Jackie is keeping cool in her foster home and would love a forever home to #adopt her soon- could it be you? Jackie hopes you will apply at www.rescuecity.nyc/adopt 🤞 In the meantime, please consider making a donation for this senior sweetie’s rescue and to help more #senior dogs make it out of the shelter.

THIS GUY NEEDS A FOSTER ASAP!! Cider is a handsome pup coming to our care from our partner shelter — but he needs a foster or foster to adopt home NOW. He’s 2 Years Old, 24lbs, and has been friendly with all humans and curious with dogs (though he is a little unsure of how to play and can be shy!) His foster home will have to work on helping him break out of his shell. Apply to foster or foster to adopt at www.rescuecity.nyc — or email foster@rescuecity.nyc if you could help Cider!

Loui is handsome, affectionate, sweet, playful — and he’s the PERFECT companion for a chill home with someone who is around most of the time! This little Cavapoo has almost no teeth! He is about 5 Years Old and 18lbs. He is neutered, healthy and loves people and dogs. He loves to walk and he really really really loves spending time with his humans. Coming to us as an owner surrender, he was never trained to be home without his humans, so it’s something that he dislikes and is working very hard to overcome in foster care. Other than that, he’s so loving and snuggly, his people are his world and nestling in a lap is his favorite! Adopt Loui at www.rescuecity.nyc/adopt! #adopt #foster #nycdogs #dogsofnyc #nycnonprofit #nonprofit

Milo needs a FOSTER COMMITMENT TODAY: He’s a 1.5 Year Old Poodle/Aussie Mix. He is a playful, loving and affectionate pup who loves humans and making new dog friends. Milo is working hard on his seperation anxiety, and would benefit from a foster or foster to adopt home with people who are around most of the time and can continue helping him work on his crate training and spending time alone at home. He is also easily overstimulated and needs a patient foster willing to work with him on getting settled in new environments, he’d love a foster home where can learn from another dog or have a yard to get lots of running around in! Please email foster@rescuecity.nyc to foster to adopt ASAP or help share Milo to spread the word!
