Chief Reinvention Officer | I help corporations thrive in perpetual turbulence and capitalize on disruption | Teaching my science-based methods to help 1B people reinvent continuously

2024 has seen a massive growth of bankruptcies across all company sizes. This does not have to be YOUR story. 3 "early warning signs" can help. Blockbuster. Lehman Brothers. Kodak. Nokia. WeWork. Toys R Us. FTX. Silicon Valley Bank. First Republic Bank. Silvergate. Is your company next? The new bankruptcy data just released shows a spike in the number of corporate bankruptcies for June 2024, reaching back to the scary levels we saw at the beginning of the pandemic. June 2024 also marked the release of the new KPMG Futures Report, which starts with a sobering statistic: “Since 2000, 52% of Fortune 500 companies have been replaced or don’t exist anymore.” How does a company go from a ‘Titan of Business’ to a burning ‘Titanic’? That's exactly the subject of my latest Forbes article on the "Titanic Syndrome" - read the entire story here: https://lnkd.in/gqTZBYnf. The short answer is simple: among the core reasons for the growing number of organizational collapses is what I call “Titanic Syndrome” — a corporate, career, or community disease in which organizations or individuals facing disruption create their own downfall through: ❌ arrogance, ❌ excessive attachment to the past, or ❌ an inability to recognize the new and emerging reality. Which of these 3 big risks/markers/enemies do you see show up most often? Let me know in the comments 👇 And if you want to really explore the nature of Titanic Syndrome and how to diagnose and treat it, join our (free, live, online with replay) Easy Reinvention Lab this August >>>https://lnkd.in/gVJSd6tQ ----------- Hi, I am Nadya. June 2024 saw a massive spike in US corporate bankruptcies 😳 The new KPMG "Futures Report" shows this is not an isolated event. "Since 2000, 52% of Fortune 500 companies have been replaced or don't exist anymore." Similar - or worse - numbers show up for small and medium-sized businesses. Are you next? Is your client close to the edge? Can you turn this around? Chief Reinvention Officer | I help corporations thrive in perpetual turbulence and capitalize on disruption | Teaching my science-based methods to help 1B people reinvent continuously

Sometimes, the journey is so hard that I want to give up... Doing research to understand the nature of the new, permanently volatile, disrupted, & constantly changing world is tough. Developing tools that help you not just survive but thrive in this new world is tough. Building a global movement of people ready to test those tools in real-world imperfect environments and ACTUALLY make a difference is tough. And then your student tells you that because of your course, they "doubled their fees with a client barely lifting a brow"... and sharing what a massive impact this work creates in the most remote locations of the world... And you are so touched you literally feel the tears coming on. And send it to your team. And ask for permission to share. Thank you, Liezl van der Westhuizen (MDiac, CRP), for the INCREDIBLY honest and courageous work you are doing building organizational capacity to reinvent continuously - so that we can all thrive in waves of change rather than be crushed by them. As a Certified Reinvention Practitioner, Liezl works with both non-profit & private sectors to accelerate change toward performance as both a facilitator & fractional employee. Before the program, like many of us, big-hearted purpose-driven professionals, Liezl was doing massively great work, but often... ...under-priced or provided excessive discounts ...pitched programs & services that were immediately rejected by the customers with no real explanation ...yearned for a community of fellow providers to bounce ideas & learn from each other This Spring, Liezl participated in our pilot cohort of 🌟 UNIGNORABLE - the new 8-week live business-building bootcamp for consultants and coaches 🌟 to be able to... ✅ Take control of the cash flow & finally get the courage to raise those prices ✅ Redesign the products around what customers actually need (& not what we often guess they need) ✅ Grow her personal brand in a way that feels true and honest to who we are & what we believe in ✅ Learn how to sell without selling our souls The results for Liezl and the entire group were so beautiful that they gave us the energy to organize another cohort this July. So, if you are looking for a group of... ...slightly crazy, ...purpose-driven, ...excellence-loving consultants, coaches, and trainers ...to spend 8 weeks (1.5 hours each Monday live on ZOOM) rolling up your sleeves & ACTUALLY up-leveling your business, I will add a link to the comments & invite you to ask questions in my DM. This is going to be epic. From under-rated to UN-IGNORABLE. See you on July 8th? ----------- Hi, I am Nadya. Introducing our newest Certified Reinvention Practitioner - Karen Robinson!!! 🤩 Karen's reinvention journey began at a crucial moment in her career at the nexus of small businesses, product management, and investments when she joined the Easy Reinvention Lab. With experience in management roles across different business units and organizations, she was no stranger to the concept of reinvention. Karen demonstrated a remarkable mastery in applying multiple tools - applications from the Titanic diagnostic tool and TOTO matrix to the 2x2 brainstorm matrix, Blue Ocean Strategy, and Stellar Canvas. Karen’s competent use of tools, seamlessly transitioning from one to another, was truly impressive. As Karen shapes the next chapter of her career, utilizing the Blue Ocean strategy to evaluate essential aspects of a role demonstrates a strategic approach to decision-making. This will undoubtedly guide her towards opportunities that align with her priorities, ensuring fulfillment in her chosen path. The amazing aspect of Karen’s work is her self-awareness and reflection on past experiences. Utilizing the Stellar canvas as a retrospective tool strengthened the understanding of how her journey has shaped her today. This reflective practice is invaluable in guiding the future endeavors. Congratulations!!! 🥳 Please join me in congratulating Karen on her accomplishment! 🤗 Dr. Nadya Zhexembayeva, Nurdan Tokoz, Sonia D., Sherri Sutton, CRP, CPTD, ACC, Gary Graham, Sally Acton (she/her), Samantha Kris, Diana Venter, CRP, Donfrey Meyer, Carly Vivian, Jim Plouffe, Karen Robinson, Alexa Michel, Kerry-Jo Ford Lyn, Colleen Carr, Claire Holden (she/her), Taryn Marcus, Carolyn Strauss, CSP, CRP, Stephan K., Susan Duff, Alison Hoskins, Kateryna Andreeva, Barbara Luckmann Jagodic, Claudia Warrington🌏, Juanita Burjins, Constanza Helen Silva PhD, CRP

Chief Reinvention Officer | I help corporations thrive in perpetual turbulence and capitalize on disruption | Teaching my science-based methods to help 1B people reinvent continuously

Most of us are about to quit our jobs - and we don’t even know it 😅 Let me explain. Something very new is happening with our careers - and our teams. The most recent issue of Harvard Business Review made it painfully clear with a great article from Diane Gherson and Lynda Gratton (I will add the link to the article in the comments, and big thanks to HBR for the great visual).   “Companies today are facing a big talent-management challenge. They simply do not have the capabilities they need in-house to transform their offerings, processes, and infrastructures—and they’re increasingly unable to persuade highly skilled professionals to come on board full-time despite making attractive offers. In many fields—particularly technology, data sciences, and machine learning—the people with the most sought-after skills are freelancers. Integrating and managing a new “blended workforce” will be one of the main managerial challenges in the years ahead.” In other words, we are entering a world in which a huge part of the company’s routine work will not be done by employees - but provided by professionals from the “outside.” What does this big change mean for you? ✅ If you are a corporate employee, this might be the best time to explore your options in this new blended workforce environment. A new relationship with a company (or two) might offer more freedom, creativity, and flexibility - but requires some groundwork. This is the time to think about your optimal engagement format, pricing, and personal brand building to showcase your expertise, relevance, and competitive edge. ✅ If you are a consultant, coach, or trainer, this means you are facing increasing competition from a new wave of freelancers - and they have all the nuanced “tacit” knowledge about their own company that you might not. Now is the time to update your portfolio of services (I offer 8 different types of consulting services, including, among others, serving as a fractional Chief Reinvention Officer). Pricing & marketing is also crucial: with 951,477 consulting companies in the US alone, facing even more competition means you must have a cohesive, unique positioning that makes you a no-brainer choice for any client, corporate or individual. I would LOVE to hear how you are already seeing this trend in your work - and how you plan to prepare to ride this wave of change rather than be crushed by it. Let me know in the comments - and I promise to share my own career reinvention story in my next post 👇 ----------- Hi, I am Nadya. Introducing our newest Certified Reinvention Practitioner - Juanita Burjins!!! 🤩 Juanita focused her final project on addressing challenges in South Africa's higher education system and offering solutions with reinvention tools. She has a diverse background in skills education at the provincial level and experience as an independent skills development facilitator and business advisor. Taking her husband's suggestion, Juanita delved into Nadya's presentations, which opened new perspectives. She introduced the concept of the Titanic Syndrome to her team, observing signs of the syndrome among those who responded, despite a low return rate. Though health issues forced Juanita to retire early, she shared her future plans for reinvention. She emphasized the importance of the Reinvention Map for identifying necessary changes and saw a strong connection between this map and the Seven Pillars of Reinvention Framework. Juanita also highlighted the Reinvention Portfolio Canvas to determine the intensity of reinvention needed at different organizational levels. Although she hasn't yet used the Stellar Canvas, she is excited to explore its components. Please join me in congratulating Juanita on her accomplishment!
