Building carbon market infrastructure on the Regen Network blockchain to help the world finance climate action

About us

About Regen Network Development PBC Started in 2017, Regen Network Development PBC (Public Benefit Corp) is the blockchain software development company powering the Regen Network blockchain protocol. RND is the core software developer of Regen Ledger, the blockchain software and core carbon accounting modules of the Regen Network blockchain protocol. RND’s engineering team has been a lead contributor to the ecosystem as the lead maintainer of the Cosmos SDK since 2019. RND recently launched Regen Marketplace, a peer-to-peer application where anyone can buy, sell, and retire on-chain carbon credits and other ecological assets. RND is the current maintainer of Regen Registry program, a native blockchain credit registry system for scientific methodology development and credit issuance. About the Regen Network blockchain protocol The Regen Network blockchain community consists of 75 validators, 20,000+ wallet holders, and 42 major projects building on Regen Ledger, along with a community of scientists, carbon project developers, software engineers, and credit buyers. As Regen Network onboards additional partners like Moss.Earth, Open Earth Foundation, Earthbanc, ERA Brazil, Shamba Protocol, and Terra Genesis International to participate in the growing crypto climate intersection, we hope to revolutionize the end-to-end lifecycle of seamlessly designing, tokenizing, and purchasing carbon credits for climate impact. • Watch this video 👀 . Incredible work by our partners at ERA Brazil in producing a beautiful kick off event for the launch of their biodiversity credits. Curious about their credits? https://lnkd.in/dJPqTMkv

🇨🇦 On June 18, 2024, we had the pleasure of being part of a historic milestone in environmental conservation: the launch of Brazil's first biodiversity credits! Held at the inspiring AYA Hub, the event brought together experts, companies, startups, and environmentalists to celebrate this initiative led by us at ERA and the Instituto Homem Pantaneiro (IHP), in partnership with Regen Network and Okala. Our event was a true sensorial journey. We saw, heard, smelled, and tasted the delights of the Pantanal. Through art, music, dance, and excellent presentations, we shared the importance of integrating science, technology, and community in protecting ecosystems. With a special focus on the majestic jaguar, an icon of biodiversity conservation in the heart of the Pantanal and the umbrella species of Brazil's first biodiversity credits, it became evident that true sustainability lies in biodiversity! Watch the video to see how our event went and join us in this new ERA of Biodiversity! Vemos, ouvimos, cheiramos e saboreamos as delícias do Pantanal. • Call for Verifiers and Monitors for CarbonPlus Methodology 🔍 🌎 We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to join the implementation of the CarbonPlus Methodology for GHG and Co-Benefits in Grazing Systems. Developed as an open-source, open-access methodology, this framework and its regulations have been meticulously crafted through the CarbonPlus Credit Class. This initiative is part of our ongoing experimentation with open-access methodologies, aimed at maximizing transparency, accessibility, and impact in the field of carbon sequestration and ecological health. Roles and Responsibilities Monitors Responsibilities: Analyze data and generate reports for 2-3 projects in Australia, where sampling and lab analysis have already taken place (with option to expand to future sampling rounds and other projects). Utilize remote sensing data and spatial interpolation methods to estimate changes in soil organic carbon (SOC) stocks. Review and report on additional ecological co-benefits such as soil fertility, ecosystem health, and animal welfare. Requirements: Proficiency in quantitative spatial analysis and remote sensing (e.g., GIS, Google Earth Engine). Background in GHG accounting and environmental monitoring. A degree in agronomics, environmental science, soil science, or biology is recommended. Opportunities: Get trained on the implementation of the CarbonPlus Methodology. Become part of our network's portfolio of verifiers and monitors, providing valuable services to future projects. Note: While data collection and lab analysis have already been performed for these projects, monitors may offer full services for new projects wishing to issue credits through CarbonPlus. Verifiers Responsibilities: Conduct independent, systematic assessments of the Monitor’s data and reports for each reporting period. Ensure compliance with the verification requirements outlined in the methodology and produce a verification report. Requirements: Expertise in soil organic carbon and agricultural GHG emissions. Proficiency in quantification methodologies. Familiarity with the regional context of the project. Recognition and reputable standing among peers. Independence from any conflicts of interest related to the project. Opportunities: Receive training on the CarbonPlus Methodology. Join our suite of service providers within the CarbonPlus network. Join Us 🤝 If your organization, startup, or you as a scientist have the expertise and interest in contributing to this pioneering methodology, we invite you to join us. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of implementing sustainable grazing practices and contributing to global carbon sequestration efforts.
