Today, and every day, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering understanding, unity, and healing among Indigenous communities and all Canadians. Here are some examples of how we've been doing our part: 🟤 Sponsorship of the ManitoAhbee Festival: Last spring, we were honored to support the ManitoAhbee Festival, a celebration of Indigenous culture and creativity that brings our community together. 🟤 Cupcakes for a Cause Fundraiser: Together, we can make a difference. Our "Cupcakes for a Cause" fundraiser was a sweet success! 🧁 We raised funds for Ndinawe, a not-for-profit agency that provides essential support to at-risk Indigenous youth aged 11 to 24, especially those transitioning out of care. Stay tuned to hear how much we raised, next week. 🟠 We provide our dedicated employees with orange shirts to wear, symbolizing our solidarity with survivors of residential schools and the path to reconciliation. This year’s shirts were purchased from Red Rebel Armour, a local Indigenous-owned business. We also provided space at our Grant Park food store for them to set up a pop-up shop. This partnership allowed them to showcase their T&R shirts and other merchandise. 🔶 We have given our entire team opportunity to learn and grow by providing direct access to education pieces such as stories from residential school survivors, documentaries, books and websites that include topics such as treaties, residential schools, land & water rights and much more. If you would like to access some of the education pieces that we provided our team we encourage you to visit the link in our bio. 🔶 We proudly recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a paid holiday, allowing our employees the time to reflect, learn, and engage in meaningful activities. Those who must staff our locations on this day receive additional compensation and an alternate day off. We are proud of what we have done, but there is much more to do. Let's walk this journey together, hand in hand, towards a brighter and more inclusive future. 🤝 🌏
