What a terrific afternoon at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP yesterday for the Women at Weil workshop. Thank you to READ Associate Board Members Christina De Vuono and Mia Lazarus for helping to coordinate and facilitate this event. Our Teen Leaders learned about executive presence and negotiating skills, which are crucial for empowering young women to take on leadership roles and excel in their careers. #WomenatWeil

We had an amazing time at Morgan Stanley last week! READ Teen Leaders heard from a panel of diverse professionals, worked on their resumes, and practiced their elevator pitches. We're incredibly grateful for this wonderful partnership. Thank you, Morgan Stanley team members, and READ Associate Board Co-Chair Ariana Sadoughi, for empowering our youth and investing in their future! #CareerPrep #YouthEmpowerment #Partnerships

We are thrilled and deeply thankful to announce that New York Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand have made a recommendation to the Senate Appropriations Committee, nominating Read Alliance to receive a $500,000 grant. READ's model has always been centered on these three goals: early literacy intervention based in the science of reading; social and emotional learning; and opportunities to build pathways for college and careers. These topics have been elevated as innovative solutions by educational experts to mitigate the disparities exacerbated by the pandemic. Our mandate has never been more clear and we thank you for supporting this incredibly important work. #readleadsucceed

Read Alliance was on fire at Tuesday evening's Gala at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in NYC! Many thanks to Alicia Keys for accepting the 2024 Vision Award and sharing her love of literature and support for READ children and teens. Inspiration soared with Honoree Adam Baxter and Leadership Awardee Mark Moore, and special remarks from TODAY's Jenna Bush Hager, Author and Journalist, and host of Read with Jenna. Shout out to our dynamic duo emcees Kendis Gibson and Arrianee LeBeau of PIX 11. Read Alliance thanks all of our supporters. Special thanks to Customers Bank for sponsoring the Desert After-Party on the Veranda. There’s still time to support Gala 2024 and Read Alliance.
