Starting next year, U.S. suppliers that ship LNG to EU member countries will need to begin complying with the EU’s new methane emissions reporting requirements, and starting in 2030, gas exported to the EU will be expected to meet a to-be-determined methane intensity target. The bottom line: The EU regulations are still a work in progress, but they provide another reason why U.S. gas producers have been increasing their monitoring of methane emissions and their efforts to reduce them. https://lnkd.in/eEgMNm4S

There are now three projects on track to begin exporting LNG from British Columbia, Canada’s westernmost province, by the end of 2028, the most recent getting the final go-ahead just last month. Some exports from the largest of the three — LNG Canada — should be getting underway by late this year, placing Canada firmly on the map of LNG-exporting nations. In today’s blog, we take a closer look at these three projects and hint at plans for more. https://lnkd.in/gujjZJpb

As four proposed crude export terminals off the coast of Texas navigate the long and winding regulatory path toward potential construction, the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port already does what they want to do. It’s the sole Gulf Coast terminal that can fully load VLCCs, having flexed from an import-only facility to one that can bring oil in and move it out. It’s easy to wonder whether a new offshore terminal might be redundant, but LOOP’s niche could easily complement another player or two. https://lnkd.in/gCjA8iKc

#Crudeoil loadings across the U.S. Gulf Coast, which decreased by 0.5 MMb/d to 3.9 MMb/d last week, are likely to move lower this week due to the impact of Hurricane Beryl. https://lnkd.in/gf-kFxwf

While many larger E&Ps have been growing bigger through massive, headline-grabbing acquisitions, EOG Resources — by market cap, the second-largest non-integrated U.S. producer — has been expanding for a quarter century now by focusing on the stealthy exploration and development of new resource plays. The results of EOG’s long-standing strategy have been impressive. In today’s blog, we analyze the scope and impact of EOG’s singular focus on organic growth instead of M&A. https://lnkd.in/gCUvcvAT
