Congratulations to our CEO and Co-Founder, Stephanie G. Freed, for being one of three recipients of the Human Rights Hero Award 2024 at the 18th International Human Rights Summit held at the United Nations. “I accepted the award on behalf of Rapha’s international team of professionals who fight for freedom every day and on behalf of the children we serve who are all the heroes of their own stories. They are inspirations to us all.” - Stephanie G. Freed The International Human Rights Summit serves as a platform for top human rights activists, dignitaries, officials and youth, to exchange ideas, develop plans of action, and forward a movement in the name of international peace. Since its inception in 2004 the Human Rights Summit has evolved into a venue to establish international partnership and friendships with delegates and officials from countries around the world. Rapha is committed to offering the highest quality services to child survivors and creating policies that promote safety, transparency, and protection. We are grateful to collaborate with like-minded organizations who are dedicated to protecting children and families. #YouthForHumanRights #YHRISUMMIT

The purpose of Rapha's Prevention program is to help strengthen families and communities and to promote the protection of children from exploitation and abuse. We sat down with a grandfather who is raising his grandchildren, and he shared his struggles and hopes with us. He said, "I don't have much I can give my grandkids, but I can send them to school every day so they can have a better future." ❤ Read Rapha's recent Prevention Update here: https://lnkd.in/g4zAC7aP

The Super Bowl is the most-watched sporting event in America every year. Around this time of year we often get asked the question, “Is the Super Bowl the Largest Human Trafficking Event in the World?” ANSWER: Any time that many people are gathered in one place crime of all types will increase. Big events like the Super Bowl are likely to bring with them spikes in all types of crime- theft, assault, drug trafficking, and sexual exploitation and trafficking. There is no data to support the specific claim that the Super Bowl is the largest trafficking event of the year, but we know that trafficking will likely follow those trends and increase in a time and place with a high concentration of people. The most important thing to remember is that human trafficking happens in all communities, and will remain difficult to identify until we collectively learn more! Our friends at International Justice Mission recently published an article about this very topic - for more information be sure to check it out. https://lnkd.in/eds-fEEt If you’re interested in learning more about trafficking in general, we recommend the free online training modules at Polaris (formerly Polaris Project) Polarisproject.org.
