Power is the ability to do something that impacts outcomes or directly influences the behaviors of others.. People and technology are forms of power. Throughout history, it’s largely remained in the hands of a group that look, act and aggregate similarly, with entrenched incentives to maintain existing architectures. My prediction for 2024 is that it’s the year of the Great Redistribution where intelligence, impact, access and power is democratized. My hope is that given we understand the causality behind the inherent bias and inequity that exists across every industry in our global economy, that we can begin to break down the barriers that hinder meaningful progress towards a fair and more equitable world.
