As we are about to conclude Sarcoma and Bone Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️, we reflect on the journey and the critical awareness raised throughout July. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀: ❖ Soft Tissue Sarcoma -13,590 expected cases ❖ Bone and Joint Sarcoma -3,970 expected cases According to the National Cancer Institute, bone and joint cancers in teenagers and soft tissue cancers in those over 55 may be underreported due to subtle symptoms and diagnostic challenges. Post-treatment, sarcoma patients endure 'scanxiety' from frequent follow-ups and the need to adapt to new challenges. This highlights the critical importance of early detection and effective management.
