We are so incredibly proud to work alongside a network of community partners who share our passion for and commitment to advancing health equity and social justice. Our network of Community and Provider Gateway Initiative partners has contributed to the building of a diverse All of Us Research Program participant community over 810,000 strong, with over 80% of participants underrepresented in biomedical research and over 45% racial and ethnic minority communities. We are so proud of and grateful to these partners, friends and fierce advocates. This is what takes hold when relationships become true partnerships and this is what drives change. #JoinAllofUs #communityengagement #healthequity

Looking forward to participating in the upcoming The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) workshop on Sustaining Community Engagement in Genomics Research. Join us in this important conversation on July 17 focused on strategies for researchers to meaningfully engage and sustain interactions with historically underrepresented communities in research in order to foster their participation in genomics and precision health studies. This past spring, members of the Pyxis Partners team co-hosted the Faith-Based Community Conversation on the Value of Genetic Research in Baltimore, MD and Columbia, MD with the All of Us Research Program’s Division of Engagement and Outreach, Baylor College of Medicine, Tuskegee University and the Faith-based Genetic Research Institute. These community-style conversations held within local faith centers discussed the significance of underrepresented groups’ participation in genomics research, and we’re glad to see diverse voices and perspectives coming to the table at NASEM to expand on these conversations and generate actionable recommendations. We hope to see you there! Register here to attend this hybrid workshop: https://lnkd.in/ebSdiNPb #communityengagement

Ronnie Tepp, Principal at Pyxis Partners and Dr. Elizabeth Cohn, RN, PhD, FAAN, Vice President for Health Equity Research for Northwell Health at Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, recently co-authored an opinion piece in the American Journal of Bioethics that speaks to the upstream and downstream factors necessary to consider in large scale research efforts designed to advance our understanding of genomics, its relationship to the social determinants of health, and precision medicine. Grateful for this collaboration and partnership and #PyxisProud to advocate for inclusion in health research as we continue to make impactful strides towards health equity! In today’s #PrideMonth spotlight, we’re highlighting Anthony Peyton Young, a black queer artist who uses his art to depict the lives of Black Americans and the racial discrimination that continues to exist today. Young’s “Above and Beyond: Creation of a Titan, 2023” hangs in our office and resonates with us as a firm committed to elevating the voices of communities underrepresented in healthcare. #PyxisPride

On Wednesday, the FDA released draft guidance on diversity action plan requirements for clinical studies, an important and timely next step in increasing diverse representation in clinical trials in the United States. Pyxis Partners and Rx4good have been preparing for this moment since we announced the formation of our new partnership this March, and we stand ready to assist biopharmaceutical companies and device manufacturers in developing robust diversity action plans that align with the FDA's guidelines. Our combined expertise in clinical trial strategy and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives will help guide researchers and clinical trial sponsors in taking steps to develop, implement, and measure high impact community engagement strategies to ensure compliance with these new requirements. This #PrideMonth, we honor Keith Haring, an LGBTQ+ artist who dedicated his career to using art as a form of social activism, using images to advocate for AIDS awareness. In 2019, Haring was one of the 50 inaugural “pioneers, trailblazers, and heroes,” inducted on the National Wall of Honor within the Stonewall National Monument. Pyxis Partners is proud to feature three of Haring’s neon signs, including this radiant heart neon sign, in our office. These neon signs not only brighten our hallway but also brighten the work we do to advance health equity every day. #PyxisPride

Our commitment to advancing healthcare access, affordability, and accessibility is evident as soon as you walk through our office doors. Guests are greeted by a vibrant, intricate mural by artist Xavier Cortada, a socially engaged artist renowned for including participants in his art. In this particular piece, Cortada, USAIDs and the city of Washington, D.C. to engage teens and include their “voices” in his art as a holistic approach to AIDS prevention and care. During #PrideMonth, we share Cortada’s art as it resonates with our mission, vision, and values. #PyxisPride
