UpSpire is expanding! Not only does the new Warehouse service line allow UpSpire to grow our business, it allows us to employe a whole other group of people needing work. “There was a sector of our population that, unfortunately, we were missing,” states Daryl R Davis II , Vice President of Workforce and Career Development, “and so [adding] the warehouse gave us the opportunity to employ individuals who are facing challenges with many of our labor-intensive opportunities that they aren’t able to do.” #employment #warehouse #upliftingpeopleinspiredworkforce #parttimework https://bit.ly/46osVo4

Guiding the journey home.
About us
The Presbyterian Night Shelter is a place of trust, respect and caring for the homeless, helping them regain their quality of life. We serve the needs of the homeless while respecting their dignity. The Shelter is the only free area emergency shelter without length-of-stay restrictions. More than 4,300 individuals call the streets of Tarrant County home. Of these homeless, over 95% receive services from the Presbyterian Night Shelter sometime during the year. We served 4,439 homeless people in 2013. The Shelter is the largest provider of services for the area homeless population, supplying meals, beds and basic human care, case management and employment services to an average of 650 homeless clients each night of the week, every week of the year. Since it was founded 30 years ago by local Presbyterian ministers, it has provided more than 3 million nights of stay and served more than 5 million meals. The Shelter offers resources enabling clients to reenter mainstream society, and employs at least 30 homeless clients who handle day-to-day operations. Our mission is to lead the journey from homeless to home. Located east of downtown Fort Worth and one block south of East Lancaster on Cypress Street, the Presbyterian Night Shelter is a 5-acre campus of four facilities.

The Foot Clinic that happens here at True Worth Place was recently featured in the American Journal of Nursing blog. Learn how this partnership with nursing students from TCU is impacting lives. The next clinic is April 25. "For many guests, the foot clinic represents one of the few moments where they feel seen, valued, and treated with dignity and respect. The importance of foot care for this population cannot be overstated; standing for hours and relying on walking as their primary mode of transportation makes foot health essential. Providing care in this area not only addresses immediate physical needs but also addresses their mobility." https://lnkd.in/edcAA7Gw

It couldn't have been a more beautiful morning to celebrate the grand opening of Journey Home Housing at Seminary! A year ago, we were at the beginning of a dream to acquire 42 units of old student housing from the Southwest Theological Baptist Seminary and covert it into permanent affordable housing with wraparound services for families exiting homelessness. Today, it is a reality! And it is only possible because of a community coming together to make it so - donors, volunteers, board members, staff. Thank you to all who attended the event and who worked to make this amazing day possible. The celebration ended with twenty rings on the bell - one ring for each family that has exited homelessness and moved into Journey Home Housing at Seminary. #journeyhomehousing #guidingthejourneyhome #affordablehousing
