According to the CDC, 1 in 4 U.S. adults are sedentary for more than eight hours a day. 😯 Insights like this shed light on why staying active is so important – especially in the workplace! April 3rd was National Walking Day, and to celebrate, Presbyterian Homes is hosting weekly walks throughout the month of April to keep our team moving! Some benefits of walking include: ➡ Increased cardiovascular and pulmonary (heart and lung) fitness ➡ Reduced risk of heart disease and stroke ➡ Improved management of conditions such as hypertension (high blood pressure), high cholesterol, joint and muscular pain/stiffness, and diabetes ➡ Stronger bones and improved balance ➡ Increased muscle strength and endurance Thanks to all who joined us for our first walking event! 💪

Prior to Presbyterian Homes, Ray served as the National Director of Technologies for Post Acute and At-Home Services at Ascension Healthcare. In this role, he assumed technological leadership for 40 physical communities, spanning Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC), Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Assisted Living (AL), as well as Home Health and Hospice services. What is your favorite thing about working at Presbyterian Homes? One of my most favorite things is participating in the IT Resident Council meetings! I love engaging with our residents and talking about the IT features of the nurse call systems, our Comcast services, and our resident engagement platform. I have also enjoyed forming friendships with the Presbyterian Homes team! What’s your favorite way to spend a day off? Probably listening to music, I have a very eclectic taste and it helps me decompress after a stressful week. I also enjoy playing Xbox online with my son; it's the perfect way to connect with him while he's away at Purdue!

What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of work? I recently started a small re-sale vintage business called Mona Maison.
