The Hummingbird Tympanostomy Tube System (TTS) combines the multiple stages associated with traditional myringotomy and tube placement into a single step. Utilizing Preceptis Medical’s patented One-Pass® Technology, a myringotomy and tube placement are achieved by advancing the device through the tympanic membrane and actuating the slider to insert the tube. The Hummingbird procedure, which only requires a topical anesthetic to numb the tympanic membrane, is performed in the office setting and is typically completed in minutes for bilateral placement. This provides multiple benefits across the care continuum, including: 1) meeting parental demand for less invasive tympanostomy tube options; 2) differentiating ENT practices by offering an innovative and disruptive approach; and 3) driving enhanced efficiency for in-office procedures and scheduling.
