About us

Since first opening in 1998, Portage Community Bank has been a locally owned and operated community financial provider that proudly serves the citizens and businesses nearby and throughout Portage County, Ohio. Since day one, our focus has been on continually meeting the needs and exceeding the expectations of our customers. Portage Community Bank was founded with our motto “Neighbors Serving Neighbors,” which we have continually strived to uphold since our inception. Our approach to preserving our customers' trust and approval is two-fold: (1) providing efficient, friendly, and customized service to each individual customer, while also (2) offering dynamic banking solutions and resources to meet the product and service needs of our customers. Today, Portage Community Bank operates four banking offices located in Ravenna, Kent, Rootstown and Cuyahoga Falls. Additionally, our mortgage office facility is located adjacent to our Kent banking office and our operations facility, which houses our finance department and operations department, is located behind the Ravenna banking office. Our Financial Services Division is located in the Historic District of Downtown Ravenna. As a community bank, we at Portage Community Bank focus and pride ourselves in local decision-making, local commitment and involvement, and local investment for the betterment of the community in which we reside. • Today, a dedicated group of Portage Community Bank team members took part in a special volunteer opportunity at the Portage County Ohio Historical Society. Our day was filled with meaningful tasks, from cleaning and helping to place items back in the museum following its recent renovation, to hanging pictures and transferring items between the historic houses. It was a pleasure to work alongside the wonderful individuals at the Museum like Debbie, Sue, Bob, and the museum curator Kevin. Their passion for preserving history and serving the community was truly inspiring. At Portage Community Bank, we believe in the power of coming together as neighbors to support one another and give back to our community. Thank you to everyone involved for making today a truly special volunteer day. 🌟 #NeighborsServingNeighbors #CommunityService

🌟 Exciting News! Did you know that @Lone Star Fraternity (Pi Kappa Epsilon) is the oldest local fraternity in the United States? It was founded on February 22, 1882, by William VanNess Yates at Buchtel College (now the University of Akron) in Akron, Ohio. In 2018, the Lone Star Board of Directors authorized a plan to develop construction of a new house as the current house was built in 1920 and is beyond reasonable repair. The new facility will be located on board-owned property located at 505 Vine Street, which is located in the University of Akron centric area, will be brought to life by Fred Zumpano of Zumpano Design and Construction. The new house design was completed to remain functional for current needs and positioned for easy expansion to accommodate future growth of the Lone Star Fraternity. We, Portage Community Bank, are proud to be their lender and to support this amazing community project. Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this exciting new chapter together! #LoneStarFraternity #NeighborsServingNeighbors #CommunityBanking www.pcbbank.com

Today, our offices are closed in observance of Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth represents freedom, equality, and the ongoing struggle for civil rights and social justice. We honor this important day by reflecting on our history and reaffirming our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equality for all.

The Signature 40 Closing Retreat was truly remarkable. As they began the day by reflecting on their 10-month journey, it became evident how deeply interconnected they had become. This realization brought a profound understanding of their shared experiences and bonds. On the final day, the class encapsulated their unity by coining the phrase "Signature 40, the Closest Class Ever," emphasizing the depth of their connections and the closeness they had fostered throughout their journey together. Special shout to Peg's Foundation for sponsoring the retreat! During the event, Rick Kellar, their President & CEO, shared some powerful life stories. Also, Kemp Boyd, Executive Director of Love Akron, and Karen Hrdlicka, Director of The Center for Family Philanthropy at the Akron Community Foundation, brought their expertise to the class on both days. Swensons Food Truck for lunch & CEO Jeff Flowers for sharing life lessons from throughout his career with the class. A huge shout-out to Peter Block author of “Community” for joining the class via Teams. https://lnkd.in/ghBdFJZe
