About us
The PODS Pipeline Data Model provides Pipeline Operators a highly-scalable database architecture to integrate critical records and analysis data with geospatial location for each component of your pipeline system in a vendor-neutral platform. The PODS pipe-centric approach to managing pipeline data helps Pipeline Operators to collect, verify, manage, analyze, update, maintain, and deliver all the information about their pipelines quickly and reliably to applications and end-users. Since the data records are linked to a physical segment of pipe, re-route, change of service, asset transfer or sale, abandonment, removal, repair, and replacement are all managed within the PODS database.

Mark your calendar for August 22nd from 1 to 2:30 pm CST! Join PODS Executive Director Monique Roberts and Nathan Sills, GISP, Vice President of Magnolia River as they dive deep into Pipeline Integrity Data: TVC and the Proposed Gas Distribution Rule. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA)’s Gas Mega Rule officially came into effect on July 1, 2020 and has changed pipeline operations related to MAOP, material traceability and verification, MCAs and records. It actively pursues the addition of Traceable, Verifiable and Complete (TVC) records and data management related to validating MAOP with approved documentation and testing. This presentation will walk you through the current TVC data requirements for transmission and gathering pipe and then how to get your data ready for the proposed gas distribution rule. After we show the data points needed for compliance, we will talk about how PODS can help organize that data for ease in reporting (functional, business and regulatory requirements). For instance, using the PODS Regulatory Module with your current data model (UPDM, APDM, PODS, etc.) or utilizing the new PODS TVC module specifically for the TVC requirements for asset knowledge management. This would allow many operators that have transmission and distribution pipe the opportunity to keep all their data in one data model with modules specifically built for regulatory compliance. Attendees will receive 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDH) upon completion. Register today! https://lnkd.in/eDcRUcpu

Breaking News! Read all about how the #PODSCommunity worked with PODS Member Company Xylem to create a first-of-a-kind, industry-centric data model to help organize and communicate water utility pipeline assessment data. “As the industry standard for pipeline data management, the PODS Association is thrilled to see the PODS data model extended to managing water resources in order to leverage the benefits of both the standard pipeline data model and the PODS community,” says Todd Patterson, PODS Board President. We believe that #DataGovernance and digital transparency of assets in the field is crucial for all sectors, including water. It’s paramount for utilities to know where their pipelines are, the state of their operations, and what’s around their pipelines in order to operate them safely. Helping vendors and their utility clients visualize the massive amounts of data associated with these long linear assets for compliance and safe operations is a key part of our mission at PODS. It’s also a vital way for utilities to optimize their in-ground assets and build new pipelines with the least possible carbon footprint. Make sure to join PODS today for full access to this new model in October 2024! #PoweredByPODS #PassionForPipelineSafety
