New York Fashion Workers Act Would mandate registration of model management companies and creative management companies and provide labor protections for independent contractors such as models, makeup artists, and stylists. The Fashion Act Would require fashion retail sellers and manufacturers to disclose environmental and social due diligence policies and would also establish a community benefit fund. Voluntary Sustainable Apparel Labeling Act Would establish a Voluntary Sustainable Apparel Labeling Program at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Entities that sell apparel would be allowed, but not mandated, to place an apparel sustainability label on their apparel products, as specified under the program. The Americas Trade and Investment Act Would provide loans and grants for programs to carry out apparel reuse and recycling, as well as manufacturing support programs to build new facilities in the United States and Latin America.
