The week before last at the Biofabricate summit in Paris, we had a simple task - to present OXYA. 📌 Pneuma’s OXYA series are engineered living everyday materials that can capture carbon through active photosynthesis. Materials that host millions of living microalgae cells. The goal - to democratise carbon capture and bring life to the daily objects that surround us. At Fondacion Fiminco we were able to demonstrate our bioengineered fibers and biofilms, as well as the Pneuma living dress - a collaboration with the talented designer Piero D'Angelo, with whom we are share the same passion for restoring a symbiotic relationship with our planet. Together we provoked questions and fantasies for next generation of materials and objects. Materials with that live and breathe, just like us. Our exhibit produced many curious smiles, interesting questions and a couple of puzzled looks, all of which motivated our team even further. Biofabricate was an important milestone for the company and sharing the space some of the most impressive innovators in the field was both humbling and inspiring. This cultivated a strong sense of hope for the materials industry, as well as push towards concepts that are more disruptive and visionary than ever before. Thank you to the Biofabricate team for facilitating and nurturing this space where science, design, art and business collide, pushing the boundaries of conscious behaviour. Grateful for everyone we met. Stay tuned for Pneuma’s upcoming progress.

We are excited to announce Pneuma is part of the 2024 Biofabricate Paris Summit, together with other distinguished bio-innovators from around the globe! Additionally, Pneuma’s CEO Spas Kerimov is joining in as a speaker and will unveil more about the company's core values and revolutionizing sustainable materials. This is more than a technological journey; it's a quest to redefine our connection with the environment. Living materials could hold the key to a future where innovation and responsibility coexist. Join us in unraveling the potential of bioengineered living materials, on January 10-12, as we strive for a global shift towards a conscientious tomorrow. Explore more: https://lnkd.in/eBKkxsUr

It's been a busy week for bio innovation in London, Monday saw not one but two London Fashion Week shows that included biomaterials in their line-up. The first was Piero D'Angelo, who showed his 'Black Walnut AS24+' collection at an incredibly fitting venue; Oasis Urban Farm near London's Waterloo. The collection encompassed craft and the cutting edge, from Belinda Budge's beautiful walnut ink prints, through to a slime mould covered dress. The finale of the show was particularly special - the debut of a dress using biotech start-up Pneuma, Inc.'s OXYA technology. The material is being developed to photosynthesize (producing oxygen and capturing CO2) and is engineered using microalgae cells. #PieroDAngelo #PnuemaBio #LFW #biomaterials #biofabrication #microalgae #fashion

It was great to meet the Founder and team behind Pneuma, Inc. last night in NYC. The company's proprietary tech has the power to capture carbon emissions in everything from t-shirts to furniture to outdoor structures. A lot of companies claim to be environmentally conscious and focused on a more sustainable world, this team is actually executing on it through a wide range of next-gen sustainable materials that are living, breathing, and evolving through photosynthesis! Keep an eye out for them this Fall at London Fashion Week. Give me a shout if you want to learn more....#esg #biotech #biotechnology #photosynthesis #sustainability
