Two years ago today, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the country's constitutional right to abortion. Since then, we’ve seen abortion opponents ban abortion in 21 states, try to use the courts to restrict access to mifepristone, try to take away young people’s confidential access to birth control, and more. Everyone should have the freedom to make decisions about their own bodies, lives, and futures. We're still here, and we'll continue to fight for a future where our reproductive freedoms aren't up for debate.

Today is Juneteenth! Also called Freedom Day, Juneteenth recognizes the date June 19, 1865 when, almost two and half years after the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation was issued, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were the last to finally be informed of their liberation from slavery. This holiday calls us to lift up the humanity, beauty, and contributions of Black people, but to also renew our commitment to standing against racism — specifically anti-Black racism — within the health care system, in our communities, and throughout the country.
