Before franchising, Sujatha Jetty, originally from South India, typically pursued regular nine-to-five jobs. However, she wanted to show her children that there were more options out there for them, including business ownership. Why This Social Worker and Mom Became a Franchisee with Pigtails & Crewcuts • Adelaide Aiken was worried about not having the right experience to become a franchisee, but soon realized her background will help her create a welcoming environment in her children’s hair salon. She has spent her entire career working with children, but when her husband Tyler first suggested franchising with Pigtails & Crewcuts, she was hesitant as she did not have a background in business ownership nor in cutting hair. However, the more she thought about it, the more it seemed like the perfect opportunity for her family. Aiken is a licensed clinical social worker and has worked with children in a variety of capacities and settings ranging from hospice care and grief counseling to helping families experiencing homelessness.
