The Pierce #Volterra EV has begun driving through California!   This week, it covered ground in the Southern portion of the state for attendees to explore the apparatus hands-on. Mechanics were impressed with the appearance and commonalities the Pierce® Volterra™ EV holds with a traditional fire apparatus. Driver’s put the Pierce Volterra EV to the test and navigated it up steep grades in their area and were impressed with the performance. They also found the rapid acceleration impressive in EV mode. The production of zero exhaust when entering the fire station or surrounding the apparatus when in EV mode was appealing to attendees. The Pierce #Volterra #Pumper has advanced to #Nevada.   Attendee’s received hands-on experience, witnessing seamless transitions between EV mode and internal combustion engine mode without compromising pumping or nozzle performance.
