I want to share an article I wrote for the Council on Foreign Relations's "Think Global Health" about burn pits and their understated environmental impacts on U.S. military bases abroad. This has been a part of a larger research project about environmentalism in the U.S. military and the need to develop waste-to-energy technology in the future. The Biden Administration is taking steps to ensure environmental education goes beyond the classroom and into the workforce. All happened this week. The reality of climate change is upon us. Serious action must be taken now, not by 2030, to protect our planet and our citizens. We have all the tools we need to make our cities more resilient, restoring the planet and cut down CO2e emissions. *EDIT: there will be a follow-up regarding the Lybia floods. So much has happened and our thoughts are with all the victims, survivors and their families.
