“In Pennsylvania, like in many states, misclassification of workers as independent contractors prevents them from accessing unemployment compensation when their employer lays them off or they are otherwise separated from employment. They are not ‘financially eligible’ because their employers have not reported their wages to the state database." - Julia Simon-Mishel, PLA Supervising Attorney https://lnkd.in/etUU_bGG

The Pennsylvania Farmworker Project has launched a vital resource guide in Spanish to combat sexual harassment and violence in the agricultural industry. The booklet, titled "Protect Yourself from Harassment in Agricultural Work," explains what constitutes workplace sexual harassment and outlines steps to take if you are harassed. It also provides valuable resources for counseling and legal assistance in Pennsylvania. For several months, the PFP team collaborated with local artist Cristina Arancibia Brecht, whose creativity brought this project to life. Additionally, the team consulted numerous advocates across the state for their expert advice and guidance on the content. Visit bit.ly/PFP123 to read or download the pamphlet.

Además, el equipo consultó a numerosos defensores en todo el estado para obtener su valioso consejo y orientación sobre el contenido. Visita bit.ly/PFP123 para leer o descargar el folleto.
