A symbol of freedom and Philadelphia's deep ties with the United Kingdom is back on display in Independence National Historical Park ahead of America's 250th anniversary. 🔔 Today, the ribbon was cut on the fully rehabilitated Benjamin Rush Garden, home to the Bicentennial Bell, a gift received from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the people of Great Britain in 1976. British Consul General Hannah Young, Independence Historical Trust Board Chair Bill Marrazzo, IHT Director of Development Jonathan Burton, Pennsylvania State Senator Nikil Saval, Philadelphia 2026 Director Michael Newmuis, and additional officials made remarks to honor the occasion. The bell resided in storage until April 2024, when it was installed at its new home as one of several projects that will welcome visitors for the country’s semi-quincentennial in 2026. #discoverPHL #Philadelphia #America250 British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia
