Encountering Jesus with those in prison.
About us
Prison Fellowship® trains and inspires churches and communities—inside and outside of prison—to support the restoration of those affected by incarceration. We equip correctional leaders, volunteers, and incarcerated men and women to make prisons more rehabilitative places; we advocate for a more restorative criminal justice system; and we collaborate with churches and local service providers to support former prisoners, their families, and their communities. Seek justice. Love mercy. Restore hope. Interested in volunteering with us? Please visit our Take Action page: http://bit.ly/356fJE8 ============== Prison Fellowship is a national, nonprofit organization founded in 1976 by former Nixon aide Charles Colson. Colson was incarcerated for Watergate-related charges and could not forget those he had left behind prison walls. He launched Prison Fellowship to give prisoners the opportunity to experience the radically transforming power of Christ that he had already experienced. All media and content published online or in print are for educational and informational purposes and do not constitute an endorsement from Prison Fellowship Ministries.

At Joseph Harp Correctional Center in Oklahoma, hope is alive and well! The Church outside came together with the Church inside to worship God at a recent Prison Fellowship Hope Event, where incarcerated men and a worship team raised their voices in praise. It’s also where men heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ—quite a few for the first time. “This journey has been one that I wish I didn’t have to take,” one participant said. “But because God is in my life, He’s given me the strength to endure. And I thank Him for that.” Watch for yourself and find out why it’s called a Hope Event! Life.Church Oklahoma Department of Corrections Nate Rudek Tammy Franklin Aaron Cosar Teresa Stanfield

What a beautiful perspective from a first-time Prison Fellowship Angel Tree volunteer in New York who serves the families of the incarcerated. "I had never thought too much about what it must be like for the families of those incarcerated as they grow up — either the kids or the other caregivers. This really opened my eyes to how many challenges and how much hurt can be there, but also how much opportunity there is to come together as a community." We are so thankful to all our volunteers! Matt's high school struggles led to a devastating path of bad choices, ultimately resulting in a conviction at age 17. Facing a 20-year sentence, Matt saw no hope. However, something changed on his first night in jail. After rejecting an invitation to attend church, he changed his mind when he heard they were offering free doughnuts. While the doughnuts initially drew Matt in, the volunteer's message of love and forgiveness resonated deeply, and the Holy Spirit started stirring in him. Matt's perspective changed as he embraced the message of grace. Matt's story is a powerful reminder that even in the darkest places, Jesus is there.

“Where I’m at now is I am free. I’m free. I’m finding my pace. I’m finding my rhythm on the outside. I’m just staying patient in what God has called for me.” —Aaron Pettes You can read more about Aaron’s story here: https://bit.ly/4d7PAYj
