Athletic Trainers and Coaches in California have a tough job ensuring a safe environment for their student-athletes. Here are just a couple of things they have to keep in mind: • 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 - As climate change continues to influence the weather, rising temperatures and hotter environments put more student-athletes at risk for heat-related injuries. • 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 - When the average temperature rises, the warmer air holds more moisture, causing storms and lightning to become more intense and volatile, which creates dangerous conditions for athletes. • 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 - Five of the ten biggest wildfires in California history happened in 2020. More wildfires produce more smoke and smog, creating dangerous air quality levels, which can lead to severe injury, such as collapsed lungs or a respiratory infection. After years of using inaccurate weather apps, receiving misleading air quality data, and not being able to prepare for inclement weather as it happened quickly, head Athletic Trainer Tim Moscicki at Loyola High School of Los Angeles had enough and came to Perry Weather for help. Here’s how we did it. • 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗕𝗚𝗧 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 - Previously, Tim took WBGT readings using a handheld device, which was slow and inconvenient. Now, with Perry Weather, all Tim needs is his phone to check the Perry Weather app for the latest WBGT updates. • 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 - With Perry Weather, Tim can receive hyper-quick notifications when lightning is detected in their predetermined radius, eliminating the use of inaccurate weather apps. • 𝗔𝗤𝗜 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿 - Air quality levels can vary drastically within a few miles in California. With an AQI sensor attached to the Perry Weather station, Tim has complete assurance in making air quality-related decisions to ensure a perfect playing environment for his athletes. Hear from Tim how Perry Weather has made his life easier. The full customer story is on the Perry Weather website, linked below in the comments.

Happy #NationalInternDay! We had the pleasure of having Jackson Farr join us this summer through the Dallas Fellows for our internship program at Perry Weather. To celebrate, we are giving away limited edition Perry Weather T-shirts designed by Jackson. The first 50 people to follow, like, comment, and repost will receive their very own! Here’s what he had to say about working at Perry Weather this summer: “Both organizations have incredibly similar values in working together as a team, helping out others even if it means sacrificing your own time and empathizing and understanding different perspectives from people of all places and backgrounds. I loved working at Perry Weather!”

100,000 students. 11,000 staff. 97 schools. That’s how many students, staff, and schools are under the Prince William County Public Schools apron. With an organization as large as Prince William, getting the schools and faculty up and running with Perry Weather was bound to be challenging. Here are some of the biggest challenges that we had to overcome. ⬇️   Prince William Schools covers a lot of ground, and not all weather stations can be hardwired to a power source since some are mounted via a pole mount. So we provided the county schools with solar panels attached to the weather station, so there would be no need to hardwire them to a power source, making them effectively plug (or plugless?) and play. Additionally, many schools have a large number of staff and teams. Many need to know how Perry Weather works to utilize everything we offer fully. In response, our Account Management team took the lead in educating hundreds of proper staff, getting them up to speed, and implementing their weather policies directly into the Perry Weather dashboard. Long story short, we go above and beyond to help our customers create their own personalized weather monitoring platform, ensuring they have the right tools and features to make confident weather-related decisions.  Still don’t believe us? Check out the stellar customer testimonial we created alongside PWCS to help tell their story about how Perry Weather made their lives easier when making weather-related decisions. The Perry Weather team honors individuals who embody our company values each quarter. We present the 'Perry Weather Values,' 'Kick the Tires,' and 'Climb the Ladder' awards. Here are this quarter's winners!⬇️ 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 The 'Climb the Ladder' award is presented to the individual who demonstrates unwavering dedication in finding solutions to unconventional problems within the hardware team. This person works tirelessly to ensure that all Perry Weather hardware operations run smoothly and occasionally steps in to handle emergencies, allowing others to rest easy. And this quarter’s Climb the Ladder award goes to Ryan Doan! Thank you, Ryan, for everything you have done to help build Perry Weather (literally) into the gold standard of weather monitoring for organizations. 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 The 'Kick the Tires' award is presented to a sales team member who exemplifies all Perry Weather values while effectively selling PW products and services to those in need and consistently supporting their colleagues. And this quarter’s Kick the Tires award belongs to no other than the man himself, Marshall Knowles! Marshall had undertaken the massive task of creating a larger Perry Weather presence in the West Coast region (specifically California), and thanks to his efforts, the Perry Weather team was able to onboard close to 30 new organizations in the CA region in the second quarter alone! Thank you, Marshall, for all of your hard work! 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 And finally, the ‘Perry Weather Values’ award! This award is peer-selected, meaning that this individual was unanimously recognized and agreed upon for being a difference maker at Perry Weather and someone who leads by example in these four categories: - Being a Clever Thinker - Being a Grinder - Being Adaptable - Being Humbly Confident And for this quarter, this award goes to our Sales Development Representative Manager, Kate Donaldson! Kate has done an amazing job developing our SDRs into individuals who know how to communicate the product, the benefits, and the ease of Perry Weather to new customers, which is a large reason why Perry Weather has seen incredible growth over this past quarter. Thank you, Kate, for embodying Perry Weather's values and being an incredible leader!

We asked Marietta City Schools a simple question; “What’s your biggest problem when monitoring the weather?” For Marietta, it wasn’t just about ensuring they had the most accurate and timely data but also about sending it through the proper communication channels at the right time and to the right people. Here’s how we made it happen👇 1️⃣ - On-Site Perry Weather Station With an Outdoor Warning System • Marietta wanted the best regarding weather monitoring, so naturally, an on-site weather station was the way to go. This enables Marietta to track wet bulb globe temperature, precipitation, wind speed, and storm cells heading their way, all with a button click. 2️⃣ - Everything, Everywhere, All at Once • With our on-site hardware plus an outdoor warning system, Marietta was not only able to continuously monitor wet bulb globe temperature but also communicate with teams practicing outdoors the moment the WBGT went above the school policy’s threshold, eliminating the need for department heads and coaches to scramble around and talk to multiple people over the phone, through text, or email. 3️⃣ - You’re Not That Weather Guy, Pal • Let’s face it: weather is unpredictable, and understanding how or why it works isn’t for the average person, much less for a coach or athletic trainer with far more important responsibilities. The Perry Weather team ensured Marietta that if they saw something in their current or future weather conditions that they didn’t know how to respond to, our meteorologists would always be available to field their concerns and questions on whether to play on or adjust activities. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Watch the video or check out their full customer story page, linked below, to see why Marietta trusts us for weather-related decisions.

Construction, manufacturing, and even schools with athletic programs that train in the outdoors—this is your wake-up call. 👏HAVE 👏 A 👏 PLAN👏 IN 👏 PLACE!👏 There is nothing worse than entering these days of extreme heat without a plan for when conditions get dangerous. - Switch to wet bulb globe temperature to assess heat stress conditions. It's a much better unit of measurement for understanding exactly how heat and severe weather can affect the human body. - Take temperature readings every HOUR. A lot can change in such a short amount of time. - Have a plan for when the heat crosses the threshold of mild to dangerous, whether more frequent breaks, shortened practices or shifts, or even delaying activities until it's safe. - Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!💧 Stay safe out there, y'all; we're in this together. 😎 #severeweather #extremeheat #heatwave

The skin gets flush with fever, the breaths grow short, the heart races, dizziness sets in. The helmet and goggles only make matters worse, trapping heat on the head and the eyes. There’s little to no escape from sweltering temperatures for construction workers like Eva Marroquin, who cleans work sites in Austin, Texas, and has worked in the industry for 17 years. “You feel death at your doorstep, but we have no choice but to go to work,” she added. Another punishing wave of intense heat has put much of the US in a vice grip this week, subjecting some workers to dangerous (if not deadly) conditions; disrupting small and large businesses; sapping away consumer spending and tourism; and taking a big bite out of economic activity.
