We 🩵 pickleball! Join us in celebrating the Habersham Pickleball Club after they recently hosted the Pickleball for Parkinson's Clinic & Play event! 🏓 Supported by Selkirk, the club created an intergenerational event for both adults and children to hit the courts, learn some moves, and play while raising awareness and supporting Parkinson's lives through donations. Inspired by one of their community members, the club had lots of fun while dinking for dollars. 🎉 You can play pickleball (or any sport) for Parkinson's and create your own fundraiser at Parkinson.org/DIY.

“Because people of different ancestries are likely to have different genes impacting their disease, it is important to have as diverse a population as possible to enroll into these studies,” Dr. Beck, the Chief Scientific Officer at the Parkinson's Foundation, told BlackDoctor.org. “The next generation of precision medicine therapies should be for everyone and available to everyone.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/gXWBhAHp

“I saw right away that Moving Day was more than just a walk, and I wanted to see how it changes people,” said Dr. Toni de Marcaida. “I also wanted to help raise even one extra dollar for research so that the next person to get diagnosed doesn’t feel like I did. I want them to feel that there is hope.” Register for a Moving Day Walk near you to join the movement: MovingDayWalk.org
