Palmer Home for Children

Birthdays can be difficult for children who have faced trauma and adversity or who are separated from their parents and family. We do everything we can to make birthdays special and to instill hope regardless of the circumstances. The kindest volunteer created these birthday gifts for the children on our Hernando campus to share with them words of encouragement and all of the necessary items for a birthday cake and decorations to help make their birthdays special. Thank you so much for this gift. We so appreciate the kindness of those in our community helping us create more light in the lives of children and teens in need of hope and healing.

This week we were blessed with a bike donation for two teenagers we recently welcomed to our campus. Mike’s Bikes founder Petra Sneed gifted these to us through the nonprofit created in memory of her late husband, Mike. Thank you, Petra, Craig, and Mike's Bikes!

Thank you to Hope Church Tupelo for touring our campus to learn more about our programs and models of care. We enjoyed the opportunity to share more about our mission and to provide a tour of the Dr. Hugh Francis, Jr. Wellness Center. Thank you to Hernando Church of Christ, Columbus Church of Christ, and Oxford Church of Christ for choosing Palmer Home for a mission-minded service project. The group cheerfully rolled up their sleeves to clean carports, clean up flower beds, and even hosted a diaper and baby wipes drive for our Family Care program. We are so thankful for your service and your donation. Afterwards, we enjoyed fellowship in the Gathering Place for lunch to share more about our four programs of care. We are thankful for this amazing group of kids and their mentors who were willing to serve our mission.

Today we celebrate the Palmerversary of houseparents Mark and Dana Hall. Making a house a home for children in need of hope and healing is no easy task. We are grateful for your mission-minded hearts. Thank you for all you do! 💚

Today we celebrate the Palmerversary of VP of Development, Jessica Corley, who works to ensure the children in our care have access to the resources they need from generous donors and businesses in our community who fund our mission. Thank you for all you do! 💚

We recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl into our Family Care program in Nashville. Mom and baby are doing great, and baby will receive the loving, supportive care she needs while Mom will receive the Christ-focused support and encouragement she needs during her time in prison. We are so proud of this young woman who continues to demonstrate the selfless love of a parent while making the most of a difficult situation. We are grateful for a chance to provide care for her daughter until they can be reunified.
