Instrument Service Provider (ISP): Metallic Material of Construction At PACIV, we understand the significant role played by the materials used to construct instruments. Pharmaceutical applications require materials that comply with hygienic standards and meet FDA/ASME regulations. A good example is the type of metal used in wetted materials (the surfaces which come into contact with the process). Stainless steel is the primary metal used in instruments where hygienic conformity is required. It proves to be superior to other materials due to its properties, which meet the criteria of the pharmaceutical industry. Properties of Stainless Steel: • Resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion • Relatively affordable for hygienic applications • Abundant availability • Resists wear and fluctuations in temperature • Easy to clean and maintain sterility • Smooth polishing prevents lingering media Example of instruments commonly ordered with stainless steel: • Flow Valves • Thermowells • Analytical Sensors • Level Detectors As part of the instrumentation services provided by PACIV, we ensure that inspected instruments are verified to contain materials conforming to required standards through traceable documentation. Properly documented material construction is a key aspect of maintaining FDA compliance and keeping the product safe for the end user.

At PACIV, we prioritize keeping our team trained and proficient in our core services: Automation, Validation, Instrumentation, and Control Panels. Technical competency is a pillar of our business. Given the diverse projects we handle—whether in the office, field, or construction site—safety remains paramount. Our teams receive regular training and updates on topics such as First Aid and OSHA regulations. Yesterday, some of our team members received this crucial training at our Indianapolis shop, which we've transformed into an impromptu training center.

On April 8, 2024, residents of Indianapolis were treated to a captivating celestial event as a total solar eclipse graced the skies. Indiana also had more than a million visitors trying to get a glimpse of the eclipse in the path of totality. As the moon passed between the Earth and the sun, a remarkable scene unfolded, casting a temporary shadow over the city and surrounding areas. Observers were awed by the gradual dimming of daylight, culminating in a breathtaking moment of totality where the sun was completely obscured, revealing the sun's ethereal corona. This rare astronomical phenomenon brought together people from all walks of life, fostering a sense of wonder and appreciation for the wonders of the universe. The office had experienced a partial eclipse in 2017, but the path of totality this time really made for an awesome spectacle. Some of the PACIV Indianapolis team celebrated the event with our building owners and neighbors, Gilliatte Construction, as we enjoyed lunch with "out of this world" clever themes and games, awaiting the total darkness from 3:06-3:09 pm. Photographer and friend of PACIV, James Herman, took some pictures of the skies and graciously allowed us to share them, trying to capture what could only really be enjoyed completely by seeing the event with one's own eyes (through protective glasses, of course). It was definitely a memorable and moving event. #solareclipse #Indianapolis #2024
