Just how much heat does city sprawl add to large-scale warming? 🌇 New work from PNNL researchers suggests that urbanization has a detectable influence on global warming over land, with more to potentially follow as cities continue growing. By incorporating city sprawl into climate models, “we can improve our ability to better estimate regional heat waves,” said Earth scientist Tirthankar "TC" Chakraborty.
