About us

The Tri-State Diversity Council (TSDC) is committed to fostering a learning environment for organizations to grow and leverage their knowledge of diversity. Through a variety of events and programs, the Tri-State Council serves as the premier resource for diversity best practices and leadership development in the Tri-State region. It is currently comprised of 3 advisory boards: Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. The mission of the National Diversity Council and the Tri-State Diversity Council is to be both a resource and an advocate for the value of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB). The NDC serves as the umbrella organization to support our statewide and regional affiliates, which foster an understanding of DEIB as a dynamic strategy for success and community well-being through various initiatives. The vision of the National Diversity Council and the Tri-State Diversity Council is to advance diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging by transforming our workplaces and communities into inclusive environments where individuals are valued for their talents and empowered to reach their fullest potential.

  • Join us on Thursday as we explore how businesses and organizations are increasingly recognizing the importance of integrating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. • This month, I would like to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments and legacy of LGBTQ+ individuals throughout history and culture. I quote the words of Marsha P. Johnson, “No Pride for some of us, without liberation for all of us.” The intersectionality of the LGBTQ+ community weaves different cultures, backgrounds and identities that all showcase the beauty of pride. As we recognize the strides the LGBTQ+ community has made towards equity, we must also advocate for greater awareness, acceptance and implementation of inclusive policies. We must continue to uplift their stories all year round. Please join me in celebrating the resilience and empowerment of LGBTQ+ individuals as they continue to make strides in the fight for equity in our workplaces and communities.

  • This month, I would like to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments and legacy of Caribbean Americans throughout history and culture. I quote the words of Marcus Garvey, "A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots." Rooted in Caribbean American heritage is a rich melding of cultures, history and backgrounds. Recognizing the contributions of Caribbean Americans is crucial to social justice and human rights. By pioneering a new frontier for inclusion, Caribbean Americans have shown their strength to create, empower and uplift others in the face of adversity. In building on the momentum and success of Caribbean Americans, we must advocate for justice, address systemic racism and showcase how they have contributed to creating a better nation and society. We must continue to uplift their stories all year round. Please join me in celebrating the heritage and contributions of Caribbean Americans to our nation and world.
