We want to take a moment to acknowledge Lee Swanson, P.E. for his recent contributions to the local community. If you follow Lee on social media, you’re likely aware of his dedicated work with the SPIRIT OF PROPELLER Foundation and the Sea Scouts. Lee has been volunteering and representing P2S with the Propeller Club - Port of Seattle in the replacement of the aged, 90-year-old, Sea Scout dock along the north side of Seattle’s Lake Union. This project holds special significance for Lee, as he was a Sea Scout himself as a teenager. Thanks to his leadership and the efforts of committed volunteers and sponsors, the project has made remarkable progress. The project will provide the Sea Scouts with a modern dock that complies with present-day environmental standards. The old dock is built atop large old-growth cedar log floats, and it will be recycled with help from CTG Recycling and Sea & Shore Construction. The log floats will be repurposed by a local log home builder and milled for use in furniture and fixtures. Lee’s advocacy and connections have been instrumental in driving the project forward. As of July 17, 2024, the funding gap has been reduced from $500k to less than $5,000. A new floating dock is now in place, awaiting piling replacement in October. Great job, Lee! Your dedication and hard work are truly inspiring.

The Aquarium of the Pacific intern tour has become an annual highlight! Every summer, we take our Long Beach interns to tour the Pacific Vision Wing. P2S proudly completed the aquarium's largest expansion in 2019, designing the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, telecom, and security systems. It is always a treat for our interns seeing this remarkable project firsthand.
