Last week our night crews at Martin State Airport celebrated the completion of lift 4 on the runway! They enjoyed Chick-Fil-A for dinner, our VP of Operations, Evan, started off their nightly huddle with a project update and a big thank you to the crews before completing their safety talk and stretch & flex so they could head into their work zone. Since April, milling and paving crews have been running side by side each night in order to reopen airport operations every morning. Despite all the rain this Spring, the crews were able to hold the production needed to finish the base asphalt phase two weeks ahead of schedule! Today is the 11th annual International Women in Engineering Day! A momentous occasion that shines a spotlight on the remarkable women who have carved a path for future generations in the field of engineering, commemorating the achievements of pioneering female engineers across the globe. We want to recognize a member of our Flanigan Family, our Director of Project Management, April, who has her bachelor’s in civil engineering. At this year’s Maryland Association of Engineers conference April was awarded The Jeffrey A. Bird Young Engineer’s Award and we could not be ecstatic and proud of April for this accomplishment! Today we are celebrating another great milestone in our Flanigan Family! Please help us in Congratulating Bruce on his 10 Year Anniversary! Bruce’s specialty is Maintenance of Traffic and this year we asked him to be our first official Highway Safety Supervisor on a project, and he is setting the safety standard on fire and raising the bar for highway safety expectations. He is a team player who is always eager to work and does a great job with any task he takes on.
