Overthrow Hospitality is the mission-driven, plant-based restaurant and bar group from proprietor Ravi DeRossi, whose legacy in New York City’s East Village spans twenty years and dozens of venues. As a hospitality group, our mission is to alleviate suffering in the world. We believe that the majority of people aspire to improve themselves and contribute to a healthier planet. Our restaurants provide a simple way to reduce suffering, not only for the animals but also for the well-being of humans and the environment. We offer this without compromising the satisfaction one derives from eating a steak. Reducing suffering doesn’t mean sacrificing transformative experiences.

Almost two months now, our marketing team welcomed a wonderful addition - please meet Sophia Bella Cucci, our new Content Manager! She works closely with our Marketing Director to craft compelling visual content that showcases our venues and the people behind them. Sophia was formerly a video editor and photographer in the music industry (Verve Records and Elektra Records). She always felt there was something else she wanted to pursue, specifically related to food. A 'foodie' from a very young age and someone who once thought would attend culinary school, Sophia decided to combine her love of imagery, storytelling, and food and chase a dream that had always been in the back of her mind. Apart from working in the music business, she is also a musician and performer herself and is still very passionate about all things music, dance, theater, and film! We could not be happier to have her on board, and we're excited for what the future holds! ❤️
