We are beyond grateful to Senator Josh Becker and Assemblymember Marc Berman who presented the Oshman Family JCC with a symbolic check for state funding of our PREP Fellowship Program! The PREP Fellowship helps high schoolers develop the pride, renewal, education and purpose they need to handle tough situations and thrive in college, the workforce or a gap year. After this cohort graduates at the end of the month, we will be publishing the dates for the second cohort! On Wednesday, 1/17, the Oshman Family JCC was honored to host an educational candidate forum with five of the leading candidates seeking to replace Anna Eshoo as the next U.S. Representative from California's 16th Congressional District. At the forum, organized by the Jewish Community Relations Council, candidates shared their positions on rising antisemitism, U.S.-Israel relations, the future of American democracy and more. Thank you to everyone who attended this year's Z3 Conference at the Oshman Family JCC. This year, in light of the ongoing war and tragedies we face as a people, we designed an event to create space for our community to come together, learn, process, and heal. The Jewish world has experienced unimaginable traumas and pain this year, and we are blessed to have had the opportunity to bring over 1000 members of our community together.
