On International Self-Care Day, we are reminded of the importance of being intentional about caring for ourselves as well as those around us. Our Employee Wellness team strives to cultivate a culture of wellness throughout our organization, recognizing that we can only fill the cups of others if we also fill our own. To find ways to promote your own self-care, check out our wellness series on YouTube. Or, why not try this short guided meditation with Optimae's president, Sheri Gill? https://lnkd.in/ech9MNi4

At Optimae, we strive to build each other up and celebrate each other. We know that a “thank you” or a “well done” goes a long way in making folks feel genuinely valued, seen and heard. Many of our initiatives do just that by celebrating and showing gratitude for the hard work of the Optimae family. For example, a number of our teams, including our Cedar Rapids team, give an “Employee of the Month” award each month to congratulate a team member who went above and beyond that month. A big congratulations to Sue Jones, a direct support professional in Cedar Rapids, for being July’s recipient!

This past weekend, Mount Pleasant hosted its second annual Tapestry Fest. The event weaves together food, music and entertainment from around the world. One of its aims is to show that diversity includes and impacts all of us, something that we also champion at Optimae. Our Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) coordinator and Intensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation (IPR) practitioner, Viengvilavan "La" Phanthouvong, represented her home country of Laos and Optimae! You can also hear about the importance of the event to La by reading the write up in KTVO: https://lnkd.in/eupTVAr9
