We are so excited to welcome Virginia Barton, MD! Dr. Barton will be joining our York and Scarborough, ME locations to offer medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services for patients of all ages. Dr. Barton earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her intern year in general surgery at Prisma Health in Greenville, South Carolina, followed by her dermatology residency at Tulane University. Dr. Barton is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Contact Dermatitis Society, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Medical Association, and the Women's Dermatologic Society. Dr. Barton looks forward to providing expert dermatology care in Scarborough, York, and surrounding towns of Southern Maine. She is committed to delivering an unparalleled patient experience and providing the highest quality of care to all patients.

Today marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Dr. Scott Guenthner, a founding physician of Optima Dermatology and our partner The Dermatology Center Of Indiana, shared this thoughtful post in remembrance of our WWII veterans.
In honor of the 80th anniversary of D-Day, we are proud to share these photos from 2014 when The Dermatology Center of Indiana served as guardians on the Honor Flight for 17 of our own WWII veterans. Pictured are the veterans of DCI team members, everyone that went on the honor flight that day at the WWII memorial, and the order of the day Eisenhower gave to all soldiers who were going to participate in D-Day. Now all of these brave veterans have passed but we remember and honor their sacrifices.

We are thrilled to introduce Siobhan Arey, Board-Certified Physician Assistant, joining our Scarborough, ME practice later this month. Siobhan has been serving patients since 2017, and offers medical dermatology treatments for patients of all ages. Siobhan earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Le Moyne College, preceded by her Master of Public Health from Syracuse University. Siobhan dedicated two years of full-time service with the AmeriCorps Volunteers In Service To America (VISTA), an anti-poverty program, in Syracuse, New York. She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Maine Association of Physician Assistants, and the Pi Alpha national Physician Assistant honor society.
