Attended the UNPARSED conference in London this week. Thanks to Kane Simms and Tom Hewitson for the invitation. And kudos to you and the planning committee for prioritizing the recurring theme of ethical AI. On Monday, I dealt a hand in the “Ethical AI Poker: What’s at Stake?” workshop, assisted by Marlinda G. and Emily Uematsu Banzhaf. The players at the table brought their A-game, diving deep into the ethical 'house rules' for trustworthy AI, examining the 'cards' dealt by the EU AI Act, and strategizing over risk management in a variety of 'gameplays'. 🃏🤝 We 'shuffled the deck' with complex user scenarios, 'raising the stakes' as we navigated the ethical AI principles. It was a 'bluff-free' zone where we weighted the 'hands' of innovation against the 'royal flush' of responsible AI practices. The session was a 'full house' of insights, where every participant played their part in 'calling' the best moves. The arguments, the discussions, and insights were invaluable. 🚀🔥 Mellini Monique continued the ethical AI theme on Tuesday with her talk on "Ethical Design of Digital Humans" and as panelist on the "Ethical Persona Design" panel. Also Tuesday Marlinda Galapon participated in two panels -- "How to Champion an Initial AI Agent Use Case and Strategy" and "Ethical Persona Design" as moderator. On Wednesday, Emily Banzhaf moderated the panel -- "Building Trustworthy AI Systems". Open Voice TrustMark Initiative & Open Voice Interoperability Initiative was well represented at Unparsed! I very much enjoyed talking at the Open Source Summit North America in Seattle last week on "Conversational Systems that Converse with each Other". I introduced the LF AI & Data Foundation Open Voice Interoperability Initiative and its message formats that enable conversational AI systems to collaborate with each other. We also got to see some videos of the message formats in use with both web-based assistants and IVR (Interactive Voice Response) assistants. Besides the talk, the Open Source Summit North America was a fantastic conference, especially the OpenAI and Data track. It was great to meet Linux Foundation colleagues, Ofer Hermoni, Ph.D. Nancy Rausch and Timothy Serewicz, too. Thanks to everyone who joined us at yesterday's Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) webinar!  What an insightful discussion we had about the transformative power of Conversational AI in healthcare delivery. A big shoutout to our esteemed panelists, Yaa Kumah-Crystal, MD MPH FAMIA from Vanderbilt University Medical Center and William Paschall from Clear Arch Health, for sharing their expertise.  Their insights shed light on the operational value of RPM in addressing various challenges faced by the healthcare industry, including the shortage of physicians and healthcare workers, health equity disparities, medically underserved areas/populations, aging populations, and the rise in chronic conditions. The discussion highlighted the legal and ethical considerations surrounding the use of voice data analysis, generative AI and large language models in healthcare.  Dr. Yaa and Bill emphasized the importance of privacy, transparency, accountability, inclusivity, and compliance. As we navigate the evolving landscape of Remote Patient Monitoring, it's inspiring to see the strides made in leveraging conversational AI patient care and outcomes -- worthy of trust.
