𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 We are excited and proud of the recognition from the Florida Trail Association (FTA) that recently awarded Commissioner Nathan Boyles, Deputy County Administrator (DCA) Sheila Fitzgerald and the County for their efforts in supporting the Florida National Scenic Trail in Okaloosa County by pursuing a footbridge over the Yellow River to connect a 5-mile gap in the trail. Awards: 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥 • Commissioner Boyles received a “Champion of the Trail” award. This award is presented at the FTA Chair’s discretion to public officials who have provided leadership in advocating on behalf of the Florida Trail, as well as landowners and agencies who have significantly contributed to the completion and protection of the Florida Trail.
