    North Okaloosa Planning Study Update 06.05.2024 PRESS RELEASE: On June 3, 2024, a draft Baseline Conditions Analysis Report was published on the North Okaloosa Planning Study website: https://lnkd.in/ewuAFzpg The report is available to the public for comment for two weeks and is one of several tasks outlined within the Scope of Work associated with the overall Planning Study as included in the recently published Public Input Calendar. The draft Baseline Conditions Analysis Report includes an analysis of County and Study area population projections, a review of the development/regulatory framework, a buildout analysis and a review of infrastructure and services needs. The final report will include updated Planning Profiles as well. The intent of publishing this draft analysis is to allow the public to comment on its contents prior to publishing the final report which is intended to occur towards the end of June.     𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 We are excited and proud of the recognition from the Florida Trail Association (FTA) that recently awarded Commissioner Nathan Boyles, Deputy County Administrator (DCA) Sheila Fitzgerald and the County for their efforts in supporting the Florida National Scenic Trail in Okaloosa County by pursuing a footbridge over the Yellow River to connect a 5-mile gap in the trail. Awards: 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥 • Commissioner Boyles received a “Champion of the Trail” award. This award is presented at the FTA Chair’s discretion to public officials who have provided leadership in advocating on behalf of the Florida Trail, as well as landowners and agencies who have significantly contributed to the completion and protection of the Florida Trail. 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 • Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners and DCA Fitzgerald both received a “Friend of the Florida Trail Association” award.
