Oak Grove Technologies (OGT) is thrilled to announce our collaboration with Evan Turner, a two-time Drone Racing League World Champion, for our upcoming Advanced UAS Drone Pilot Courses.
With over a decade of experience in nearly every aspect of the industry, including customized builds, sUAS and counter-sUAS tactics, aerial photography, and videography, Evan brings a wealth of knowledge to the course. He specializes in safely capturing high-profile hazardous drone flights, making him an invaluable resource for our participants.
The OGT Advanced UAS Drone Pilot course, tailored for experienced drone pilots, offers a comprehensive curriculum. It covers sophisticated flight techniques, precision flying, improved agility, advanced aerial decision-making (ADM), and unique mitigation strategies for high-risk mission/operations. We also delve into regulatory compliance, risk management, and real-world applications. Our hands-on training with cutting-edge sUAS technology ensures students are fully prepared to tackle complex aerial missions with precision and safety.
Evan will lend his expertise to OGT’s elite instructors, including Tony Bracco, an internationally ranked drone racing pilot, and Brett Pearce, a former NASA engineer and NC State University instructor, amongst other subject matter experts in uncrewed technologies.
OGT conducts this and other courses at its Test & Training Center in Hoffman, NC, a state-of-the-art facility that provides 300+ acres of operationally relevant innovation space. The UAS classroom, a hub of innovation, offers a workspace for prototyping, fabrication, simulation stations, 3D printing, and manufacturing.
Like OGT, Evan is deeply committed to fostering continued education in drone capabilities through STEM programs. His passion for sharing knowledge is evident in his frequent guest speaking engagements at schools across the nation, inspiring the next generation of drone enthusiasts.
The next Advanced UAS Drone Pilot course is scheduled in the Fall of 2024, updates coming soon.
Evan’s skills will be on display this weekend as one of the competitors at our annual Raptor Drone Race, June 29-30, held at the Test & Training Center. Come watch or participate, link below!
