Meet our summer intern! His name is Parv Aggarwal, and he has been a great asset to our team. We would like to thank Chautauqua Works for making this internship possible! Here is Parv's bio: Parv Aggarwal is a passionate and innovative professional currently pursuing his master’s degree in Quantitative Finance. With an undergraduate degree in Business Management and two years of experience at EY, Parv has built a strong foundation in business consulting and financial analysis. He is currently enhancing his expertise through a summer internship at the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Jamestown, where he is deeply involved in consulting projects. In his role at SBDC, Parv leverages his technical skills, financial acumen, and data analysis capabilities to offer valuable insights and suggestions for improving business plans and overseeing financial valuations. His dedication and eagerness to learn have led him to explore the use of Power BI for advanced data visualization. Parv's motivation for this internship comes from his long-standing aspiration to move into consulting. He sees this opportunity as a crucial step in his career, aiming to eventually work as a consultant or analyst in a top-tier firm where he can continue to grow and make a significant impact. Outside of work, Parv enjoys walking, playing tennis, listening to music, spending time with friends, and exploring new cuisines through cooking. He also has a strong passion for serving the community, which was a key reason for joining SBDC. Inspired by the impactful work SBDC does, Parv plans to start his own consulting firm in the future to help small and mid-sized businesses grow and thrive. He believes these businesses are the backbone of the economy, making the most significant impact on GDP and societal development. Guided by the philosophy, "The only way to do great work is to love what you do," Parv is committed to delivering results and continuously striving for excellence in everything he does.

Yesterday was fantastic as we celebrated a remarkable achievement in Lewis County, NY. We honored Jenniffer Bleakley, Executive Director of Hand in Hand Early Childcare Center, as she received the 2024 "NYSBDC Rural Small Business of the Year" award. 🏆 The event took place at Hand in Hand's location in the Harrisville Central School District, and this recognition is a testament to Jenniffer's dedication and the significant impact Hand in Hand has on the community. There were several special attendees! Hosts: • Sonya Smith MBA, NYSBDC State Director • Robert Griffin, CEPA, Onondaga Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Onondaga Community College and Watertown Outreach Center at Jefferson Community College Regional Director • Debbie Wilson, Certified NYSBDC Business Advisor who has been instrumental in supporting Jenniffer • Jamie Procak, Coordinator at Onondaga SBDC • Renee Goodnow, NYSBDC Communications Coordinator & Marketing Strategist Guests: • Jerilyn Fairman, Provost & Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs at Jefferson Community College • Team members and board members from Hand in Hand • Staff from the Harrisville Central School District, which hosts Hand in Hand’s childcare facility in their classrooms • Team members from Naturally Lewis, a nonprofit focused on economic development in rural areas The event featured speeches from local officials and program supporters, highlighting the importance of accessible childcare in our rural communities. After the award presentation, attendees toured the facility, witnessing firsthand the nurturing environment Hand in Hand provides for children. Seeing the kids engaged in their activities was heartwarming, embodying the center's mission to foster development through a play-centered approach. Hand in Hand is helping ensure children receive high-quality care and education in a safe and loving environment. With nearly $3 million in funding secured for its vital expansion, Hand in Hand continues to meet the needs of families in the community. This funding was secured with the assistance of Jennifer's SBDC Certified Business Advisor, who helped in the application process. This celebration was a stop on our Summer 2024 Client Awards Roadshow, a state-wide celebration and acknowledgment of outstanding small businesses throughout New York. This roadshow brings together communities across the state to honor the exceptional achievements of SBDC clients, and we will continue to share stops throughout the summer! Congratulations again to Jenniffer and the entire Hand in Hand team! #NYSBDC #SmallBusinessSuccess #Childcare #CommunitySupport #NYSBDCRoadshow
