Recently, our international students participated in the "Understanding China - International Students' Aerospace Academic Symposium" at Beihang University's International Campus in Hangzhou. With a theme of "Empowering the Future with Aerospace," students from five universities, including NPU, engaged in expert keynote speeches, student presentations, and group discussions. Our Ghanaian PhD student, Bruce Frederick Nii Ofei, delivered an award-winning presentation on organophosphorus flame retardants, earning the Best Oral Presentation Award. Additionally, our PhD students Shakir Hafiz Muhammad Fayzan, Sarwar Muhammad Khaqan, and Atir Muhammad Salman presented their research through poster displays, with Sarwar winning the Best Poster Award and both Shakir and Atir receiving Excellent Poster Awards. This symposium provided a platform for students to showcase their research, foster academic collaborations, and deepen their understanding of China’s aerospace sector. 🌏🎓 "Immerse in Xi'an, get a Taste of China" – The Moscow Aviation Institute (Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research University)) Summer Camp successfully concluded at NPU! Over 12 days, students from Moscow Aviation Institute experienced a unique blend of Chinese culture and modern technological development. The camp began with Mandarin lessons, laying a linguistic foundation for the students. They then explored traditional crafts like wood inlaying and movable type printing, along with modern design techniques like tie-dyeing. The students also participated in an aviation model class, creating and flying their own models, and visited aviation labs to witness cutting-edge technology. Cultural immersion continued with Wing Chun martial arts classes, shadow puppet shows, and Qin Opera performances, offering a deep dive into Chinese traditions. Visits to the Geely Auto manufacturing base showcased China's innovative manufacturing capabilities, while tours of historical sites like the Terracotta Warriors, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, Bell Tower, and City Wall highlighted Xi'an's rich history and cultural heritage. The students left with a wealth of knowledge and experiences, eager to bring their insights and inspiration back to Russia for future studies and research. 🌏🖋️ In Part 4 of our NPU summer activities, Our international student embarked on an enriching journey to experience Confucian culture as part of the "Exploring Confucius' Hometown, Promoting Intangible Cultural Heritage" summer practice activity. Led by their counsellor, the team delved into the heart of Shandong Province to explore the profound wisdom and heritage of Confucianism. The journey began with a visit to the Shandong Museum, the largest comprehensive museum in the province, where students learned about the region's rich history and cultural legacy. They also visited Daming Lake and Baotu Spring, immersing themselves in the natural beauty and historical tales of Jinan. In Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius, students visited the #Confucius Museum, exploring numerous artifacts and documents related to Confucian culture. Through interactive discussions and guided tours, they gained a deeper understanding of Confucius's life, his philosophical teachings, and their enduring impact on Chinese and global cultures. Students also visited the Three Confucian Sites: the Confucius Temple, the Confucius Mansion, and the Confucius Cemetery. These historical landmarks offered a tangible connection to the past, showcasing the grandeur of ancient Chinese architecture and the profound respect for ancestors. Throughout the journey, our students not only learned about traditional Chinese culture but also engaged in meaningful exchanges with local residents and fellow visitors, sharing their own cultures and building lasting friendships. This cultural exchange experience enriched their understanding and appreciation of different traditions and perspectives. This four-day exploration of Confucian culture concluded with heartfelt reflections and a deeper sense of belonging to the global community. 🌏🎓 Two of our outstanding International students, Lu Junyu from the #Philippines and Erik from #armenia, recently participated in the "Encountering SCO, Beautiful Qingdao" summer activity for International Students, organized by the Ministry of Education, P.R. China. The activity was aimed to deepen international students' understanding of Chinese culture and foster international friendship. Throughout the week-long program, students explored various cultural and modern sites in Qingdao, including the Chinese-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone, Qingdao Port, and Laoshan Scenic Area. They engaged in hands-on experiences with traditional crafts like dough modeling and rope art, and immersed themselves in the vibrant local culture. Erik showcased his excellent language and organizational skills by hosting the closing ceremony, seamlessly linking different segments in both Chinese and English. Meanwhile, Lu Junyu’s artistic talent shone brightly during the choral performance of "Dream Road," moving everyone with the universal language of music. These enriching activities not only provided valuable cultural insights but also strengthened the bonds of friendship among international students from different backgrounds. 🌏🖋️ In the Part 2 of "Exploring Ancient Yinshang, Understanding China" summer program, our international students embarked on an enriching journey to Anyang, Henan, visiting the Chinese Character Museum and the Yin Ruins Museum. This experience deepened their appreciation for China's rich cultural heritage and historical significance. At the Chinese Character Museum, they were captivated by the evolution of Chinese characters, starting from oracle bones to modern script. They marveled at the exhibits that showcased the unique structure and development of Chinese characters over millennia, highlighting their cultural and historical importance. The following day, they visited the Yin Ruins Museum, the cradle of Chinese archaeology and the birthplace of oracle bone script. Here, students explored the profound history of the Shang Dynasty through the remarkable collections of oracle bones and bronze artifacts. Guided tours provided deep insights into ancient Chinese civilization and the innovative spirit of the Shang people. The dedication of the Linzhou people in creating this canal serves as an enduring inspiration, emphasizing the importance of community and resilience.
